I didn’t have strong feelings about Noah - I thought he was perfectly fine. But that set design… woof. Who approved this? One of the worst I’ve seen in a while. If they had no inspired ideas, they should’ve just sat everyone on chairs on a bare stage.

The Lucille Lortel needs a complete renovation before presenting new plays. The sightlines are truly atrocious. No one should be seated in the mezzanine, or anywhere in the orchestra that isn’t an aisle seat on the sides. A terrible theater.

Intermission at Wicked, house is nearly sold out except for the back two rows of the Orchestra. Wondeful performances by the entire cast, espacially Jennafer Newberry as Glinda.

I agree, she was good but she very clearly hasn’t found her footing yet. It’ll take time, her first rehearsal with the principal cast was just a couple of days ago. If this is what she can do in her first performance, a month from now I’m sure the comedy will land better and she’ll be outstanding. I always find it terrifying how little rehearsal time replacements get before performing in front of 1,500 people.

Really not sure how this made it to Broadway. I assume they got the theater pretty much rent-free, but even with that, the 20 people in the audience who actually paid for their tickets can't possibly sustain the theater staff and everything else needed just to turn the lights on at the Nederlander. Keep the free bananas - cut everything else.

Saw this tonight. It’s very funny, but only for those who know the Lindsay Lohan version by heart. Others likely won’t catch most of what’s happening on stage, as the show doesn’t really tell the story of the movie—or tries to, but speeds through every laugh at a meteoric pace, making it hard to follow if you don’t already know the plot. I thought it was a great idea at first, but my worst nightmare came true at Floyd Collins, where a man apparently grabbed a bunch and ate them like popcorn behind me—unwrapping them throughout the entire first act. He ignored everyone who asked him to stop. Needless to say, that first act was ruined for everyone around him.
