The way I could easily name multiple credits in Kermit’s filmography, but couldn’t tell you a single thing about Rob Lake…
Not what I expected at all.

Definitely not the Muppet Christmas Carol that's been rumored.

Meh.
Agreed, a disappointment. There's Kevin Zak's contribution but I don't know enough about his work to not have the feeling that this does not have enough cross-over appeal for us wicked, woke, city-dwelling perverts (who adore Miss Piggy).

He was a quarter-finalist on AGT in 2018 and has had a show in Tahoe and the Bahamas.
Curious about what the weekly schedule will be? If it is standard show times, I won't be able to fit it in. But if it plays like the Rockettes with multiple shows then would work. I guess union rules for stagehands play into thst?

Wow with a resume like that, how could anybody not be familiar with him?
Curious to see how this impacts the CATS revival. Maybe they don’t need to do as much of a gut job/conversion as I would expect them to.

Someone here claimed Cats is being modified to play a proscenium so it can tour. Who knows.

"ROB LAKE MAGIC WITH SPECIAL GUESTS THE MUPPETS"
Wow, catchy title.

They have got to give up the wish that Jellicle Ball makes any sense to tour especially when it means shelving their twice a decade tour of the traditional show that sells across the country.

It should be switched to The Muppets Magic Show with Special Guest Rob Lake. Nobody knows who Rob Lake is.

Parents will see ‘The Muppets’ and ‘Magic’ in the title and I’ll bet it will do spectacular business after the first couple of weeks.
We are not the intended audience (obviously) and it probably will not keep anything else from opening at the Broadhurst, so I hope it is a big success (even if I have zero interest in seeing it).
Look, I can't stand here and say this will be anything close to a highlight of the upcoming season. It won't be. I've never heard of Rob Lake. And the show can't be too large given it's only a 12 week run.
BUT - if I'm being honest and purely emotional driven - an opportunity to see the freaking MUPPETS in a live, Broadway calibre show is incredibly exciting. That alone makes me want tickets, and I'm incredibly excited to see the show.
That’s a pretty terrible name. Haven’t we suffered enough with LORD NIL this season to now get this?

Have the Muppets ever starred on Broadway?
Let me guess it will be Kermit the last ten minutes of the show
So I’m guessing Disney is producing this and putting money into it? That at least makes this sound a *little* more promising?

Joe Quenqua is one of the lead producers, he is a former Disney communications executive.
I’m sort of surprised to see the borderline negative reaction on here. Yeah, the title is bad, but I love the Muppets enough to be excited about this, and Kevin Zak serving as script consultant (aka writer) makes me even more hopeful. Ginger Twinsies is a riot, and his script doctoring on Death Becomes Her is arguably what got it to the state it’s in.
