Of course I have tickets for 3 shows this weekend and I'm in NJ, but hoping that transit holds up. And of course I don't trust forecasts these days till I can see it out the window.
Too early to tell with accumulations. I'm supposed to see Chicago on Sunday for Robyn Hurder again. Hoping the storm stays south and we only get 3-5 inches. Broadway only cancels shows if mass transit is forced to shutdown.
Last time Broadway closed down due to snow was Saturday, January 23, 2016, and it was due to mass transportation shutdown. There have been countless blizzards and heavy snow days since and Broadway performances continued so it’s safe to assume you’re fine.

He's worried about getting to the city, dear.

You appear to be gearing up to challenge Miss Sutton for the title of America's Sweetheart, "dear". It seems you just can't restrain yourself from responding as a d*ck. Maybe if you spend a few hours a week outside of your parents' basement you might pick up a few tips on how to not be so socially inept?
Classic case of projection. All of your posts are steeped in hateful venom. Look in a mirror, doll.

Thanks for helping prove my point -- you just can't control yourself, "dear".
Anywayyyyyyy…
If shows do go on this Sunday there will likely be discounts and cancellations galore. 12-15 inches of snow is predicted, and NYC hasn’t seen that much since that Jan 2016 storm. But it’s still early and things can/will change. Shows can also make their own independent decisions to cancel.
The start time of the storm also seems to be moving later (now not starting until about 8am Sunday, yesterday was starting on Saturday). And Broadway is unlikely to make decisions until they see white stuff on the ground.
Posted in the other thread.... Was watching News4 this morning and one model is forecasting a lot of snow and the other is showing rain and sleet. They said they will be monitoring both closely. I am sure they are on it after that big storm was forecast a while back that never materialized after they shut MTA down to prepare for it.
If not shut down (probably unlikely), I foresee a lot of nice snow day discounts!

Do the shows advertise discounts on social media? Like all tickets 50 bucks or something like that? We haven’t had a big blizzard in years so I don’t remember how this works.
New Yorkers always lose their minds regarding snow, and it usually ends up being a 1/4 of an inch. This storm is heavier this time, but it will be a wintry mix that will last all day on and off. Perhaps there will be discounts, but the mayor said mass transit will remain open, which means shows will remain open as well. And Telecharge also confirmed the same thing.

We really won't know how bad things will be until likely late tomorrow. It could be a couple inches, it could be a foot of snow. This certainly doesn't seem like one of the nor'easters that used to happen once or twice a year, though.

My 10PM train from NYC tp Philly on Sunday was just canceled. They bumped me up to an earlier train. Watching and waiting ...

If shows do go on, yes, they will do that. Some of the more desperate could start that as early as today. CHICAGO will be one to watch. I bet a minimum 25% of each performance's sales are day-of. And if TKTS closes and there's too much snow for street teams, that's a problem for their gross.
If the snow doesn't start til 7am Sunday, it's unlikely that the League and/or individual shows will want to make a call earlier than 10am. And by then shows will have a lot of ticked-off dayworkers who will have schlepped in to work, and patrons and workers living outside of the 5 boroughs who need to begin traveling.

Yes, go to social media accounts, but also come here. Historically, a thread appears and we all post the best discounts. Probably not 50 bucks but I saw Billy Elliot at that price when it was a very hot show because of a snow day discount.

They’re already changing the forecast. Says it’s not supposed to start until 8am, that’s not too bad because the cars on the street will ensure the snow doesn’t stick.
I know some regional theatres have already started canceling / rescheduling, and here in DC the Mayor has a State of Emergency from mid-day tomorrow 'til early Tuesday. But truly, it's gonna be up in the air what actually happen.
Echoing an earlier poster - def check here + the show's individual social media accounts for snow-deals.
If you're traveling into town and it gets delayed / canceled, call your point of purchase and see if you can at least reschedule - I've found a fair degree of success with that in the past (again, depending on the venue.)
And for everyone who can get around in NY, it's a good weekend to try rush and lotteries if shows do indeed go up.
However it works out, be safe everyone!!!

Due to inclement weather, the following changes have been made to this weekend’s Lincoln Center Presents performances:
• River Whyless will no longer perform at the Atrium on Saturday, January 24. This performance has been replaced with Grace Krichbaum & Dan Harris.
• The 9th Annual NextGen National, originally scheduled for Sunday, January 25, has been postponed until Sunday, April 12. (Fast Track for this performance is transferable to April 12.)
• Both performances of Magnet Theatre’s BOUNCED, scheduled for Sunday, January 25 at 11:00 am & 2:00 pm, have been canceled. The performances on Saturday, January 24 at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm will continue as planned, and Saturday’s 2:00 pm performance is now a relaxed performance. If you have tickets for Sunday and would like to attend one of Saturday’s performances instead, you may exchange your ticket by calling the Alice Tully Hall Box Office at (212) 875-5050. There will also be a standby line on-site for each performance, and we will accommodate as many ticket holders as possible; please note entry is not guaranteed.
I'll decide Sunday morning whether to attempt Chicago's rush for the matinee. I'd expect ample availability for most shows on Sunday with people canceling.

Telecharge posted this Weather Update:
"All shows are scheduled to play on Sunday, January 25.
Please allow extra time to get to the theatre. Some shows are allowing ticket holders to rebook for another date. Go to Telecharge.com/FindMyOrder
If your show is eligible, you’ll see the Rebook Tickets button. Click the button and start the rebooking process to refund and select new tickets."
I have tickets for Two Strangers but don't see the Rebook Tickets option yet

I didn’t realize how many shows do two shows on Sunday. I knew shows like wicked and book of mormon, Six and Chicago and do Sunday evenings, I just didn’t realize it was as many as it is. Aladdin, Lion king, and Hamilton also have performances this Sunday evening, and they seem to go back and forth between Sunday evening and Wednesday matinee

The ny phil is doing a big concert at radio city Sunday night 7pm, apparently a long awaited thing to happen. It’s almost sold out. I hope the snow doesn’t ruin it.

None that I know of. Last time I recall tickets cost $50 for all seats was when the pandemic was just about to hit NYC in March 2020 (Rudin had a promo of $50 all seats in the shows he produced.)
I did see some great discounts on TodayTix drops.
TKTS has almost every show available for tomorrow.
