According to the initial post, I felt a need to state that we can do without the things that bring us joy and happiness for one day. I personally would not do it. Not pointing fingers here but I am saddened by the whole idea that we can't devote one day, the holiest day, to Christ. I'm sorry but it hurts me deeply. I'm Greek Christian and we take that day VERY seriously. It's the only day we spend THE WHOLE DAY in church. I consider myself a strong girl and don't cry easily, but during services on Good Friday, I weep without embarassment. I don't even listen to music or watch tv. Yes I caught the matinee performance of Gypsy today - bought the tickets the week they announced the closing.What can I saw, I had 3 months since the last performance I saw, and I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I was to see Bernadette Peters on that stage again. I think that it's also due to the fact that tickets to Gypsy are at a 40% discount rate.I like to think that alot of people just love BP and the show and just couldn't let it go yet. Really? Yes I haven't read any. I remember hearing something about an off Broadway show "Bernadette" but I didn't quite get it...obviously since I hadn't read anyone of his articles! What was B. Peters' reaction to that?

I don't read the NY Post so I missed his colunm on Gypsy w/ Bernadette Perts. What did he say about her? And he doesn't like the revival? Or just Bernadete Peters?

I have to agree with the short curtain calls. I remember during the holidays, the whole cast would come out after the performances and they would request that we buy some autographed stuff to support charities. Wheresas, all the other times they just bow and the curtain comes down.I support charities and by all means I don't want to imply that we shouldn't give to charity, but I would have liked the cast to say a couple words instead of just "please buy the cds and posters to support ________...

So that's Micahel Riedel of The New York Post? I started watching it from time to time last year, and he just turns me off! What a very cold person. And he it seems he has to get the last word every time. Also, very disrespectful to his co-host, what's-her-name.And they take this guy seriously? He looks like he just graduated college!

That's too bad. I think a lot of people would love to see Patti play Mamma Rose.If I didn't know she was Italian sure would have guessed Patti was Greek. Did she play that part in Frasier with an accent? I would have loved to have seen it!Greeks and Italians are very similar in just about everything!

Wasn't he in "The Music Man" 2001? I'm not sure but I remember hearing about it. He does have a decent voice.Not too long ago the whole W&G Cast was on Oprah and I think D. Messing mentioned how she was in an off-broadway play (can't remember which one) and how really difficult it was for her to do an 8 performaces a week schedule. Or did she mention this on Jay Leno? Cant remember. But I don't think she has a good voice.Megan M. has been on broadway too.I don't know about Sean Hayes.

I would love to see Patti play Mamma Rose! I hope she can take Bernadette Peters' place after she leaves - that would be amazing!But I love my girl Bernadette Peters! I'm so happy it has extended. I hate to see it close....But my 4th time seeing BP in Gypsy will be Feb 25!! Can't wait :)
