One of the few times I actually cried at the passing of a Broadway actor. He's of my generation so I feel like I "grew up" with him. Fortunate to have seen him perform live. May he forever sing in glory

And after Audra's run, can we get Lea Salonga in as Mama Rose? Her performance in "Old Friends" is a revelation.

Skylar was the standout for me as well. Everyone was in top form but they have all achieved a certain renown and was pleasantly surprised at how Skylar held his own. A wasn't a fan of Patti's Send In the Clowns but her Ladies Who Lunch was marvelous. I'd rather get a show like this with top notch performers than fully staged musicals with B & C list performers. The last great musical event at the Hollywood Bowl with top caliber stars was Into the Woods which incidentally starred Skylar, Sutto...

I'm disappointed by this season as well. It was obvious that Funny Girl was part of it and I'm glad A Strange Loop is coming. They should have gotten Company as it seems more apt for the Ahmanson stage and not the Pantages. I was really hoping for Leopoldstadt to come here.

Having seen dozens (if not hundreds) of shows, I've only walked out of two…the Fiasco production of Into the Woods and the Daniel Fish Oklahoma!I almost walked out of the pre-Broadway try-out of Lestat but as a rule, I would only walk out of a show if I had already seen a previous version of the show

I'm not feeling this set design. It's missing the lushness I expect from The Secret Garden

They still had the red lights and screams. Yes, they became laughable but they did keep the audience on edge. Ben was the only character who had a distinct Boston accent which made sense. I saw this on the first performance and even then, the cast was top notch. I'd love to see it again to pick up on all the clues sprinkled throughout the show.

Sounds like the Wormwood's songs are gone, as is their son, Michael. They had to cut down the time somehow.

I do hope this moves to LA. With the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the WB Studio Tour, this would make a great addition. However, I can't imagine what theater this would best fit in for a long run. The Dolby and Pantages are both too big for this IMO.

Saw this recently and I've got to admit, I had a great night out. The sets and effects were amazing. The songs were not entirely memorable but they weren't bad either. Olly Dobson and Roger Bart were casting perfection. It would not be smart to open the production on Broadway without them.

To be fair, when the show premiered in SF, it was about 4 hours long (or it felt like it). I'm guessing they will also pad up the Dorothy section

I enjoyed "Power of the Dog" which looks like it will be the eventual best picture winner but I found "West Side Story" to be more satisfying as a film. It felt more well-rounded and never was I bored during the movie. Mike Faist deserved the nomination more so than Jesse Plemons did. He had more to do and the role was more complex and difficult. I don't think Rachel was robbed of an Oscar. She was good but not as good as those who were nominated. I also don't think "Don't Look Up" deserved t...

I'm sure Cynthia was offered the role first and I get why she would have passed on it, besides the scheduling conflict with Wicked. Wicked will no doubt be a bigger hit. I do wonder, Celie is more of an award-winning type movie role IMO (compared to Elphaba which will be looked at as a blockbuster type part), will Cynthia be kicking herself if Fantasia gets an Oscar nomination for this? That said, I do think Cynthia will have many more opportunities in the future to bag another Academy nomina...

At this point, I'm guessing Ariana's agent will probably be discouraging her from taking more musical roles to avoid being typecast. She isn't the Celie-type physically either

It was a decent production with a great supporting cast (Benanti!) but woefully miscast leads in the Baker and his wife. As the heart of the show, their lack of magic dragged down the show. The use of books in the production design was a smart touch. While this doesn't compare to the original, it was still waaaaay better than the most recent Roundabout revival which was terrible and truly a fiasco. The best production I have seen since the original was the Hollywood Bowl one.

The flashes were annoying and disrespectful. I’m surprised no one stopped them after the first instance. Why people even take pictures with the flash on is baffling.

I love the energy and vibrancy of colors, especially in that America still. I don't think colors have to be drab to exude a "realness" to the film. It is a musical after all
