Hi, friends! Since the last thread was for the 20/21 season, this is a thread to keep track of all of the news and updates for the 22/23 touring season. Unfortunately, I don't have time to do my traditional spreadsheet, but hopefully this thread will be enough to keep ourselves updated.
Season Announcements should be coming very soon, with the bulk happening between February and May. Most venues are looking to go back to their traditional timeframe for their announcement, but things are still subject to change given the current state of things.
Based on booking and marketing sites, we should only see a few new, direct-from-Broadway shows and a few returning shows that closed at the beginning of 2020. There will also be a few shows that will close after the 21/22 season (notably Rent). Overall, it should be a very exciting season and hopefully your dream season will come to your town.
For those who enjoy making predictions, I do have a spreadsheet that tells you which show played in which season and how old the show was when it played there. It also has a future show projection sheet that I've accumulated from different sites. I'll be updating this file as announcements come in. You can find that here
I'll admit that, although I like to keep track of things, I don't know everything, so hopefully we can keep each other informed!

Well Hadestown will now play Bass Concert Hall September 20-25, 2022. in Austin TX.
I was supposed to have seen it this past weekend, but it got rescheduled due to covid cases in the cast. They automatically moved my tickets to then.

AIN'T TOO PROUD was scheduled to hit Houston the week of 10/3/22 but with HADESTOWN canceling its run here, it took those slots and the Temptations will go to Nashville that week instead. So it looks like AIN'T TOO PROUD will now hit Houston the week of March 20, 2023.
Trying to find other shows coming here for sure. TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD has us listed but no firm date.
Thanks MTH85 for everything you do to help find these schedules.

I know there was talk in another thread about Aladdin going back out - seems to be confirmed as Disney Theatrical is hiring SMs for a Fall 2022 launch of a new Aladdin tour.

Heard a tour was being planned when Broadway reopened, but nothing new has surfaced.

What ever happened with the Les Mis tour ? We just never heard a word about it again after the shutdown . It was supposed to come to Philly in April 2020. Glad I saw it with almost the same cast in 2018.
Is the Cher Show still going out as I know I saw recently it is having a regional premiere somewhere ? It was supposed to come here too .

The LES MIS tour will be starting back up in the fall, according to a recent casting call.

Oh god. I don’t need to see that show again. I hope it doesn’t come as a part of my subscription.

Has Mary Poppins only done the one US tour? If so it is a surprise as it’s one of the most successful Broadway shows ever. I would thought a tour would do well.

MARY POPPINS is a part of the 2022-2023 Theatre Under the Stars season in Houston. They've teased it to lure renewals. I've heard the other shows in their season are:
9 TO 5
RENT
AIN'T MISBEHAVIN'
CHILDREN OF EDEN
and the pre-Broadway BROADWAY VACATION.
I presume that VACATION will be a mini-tour or premiere. TUTS often produces their shows locally so hard to know for sure, but wasn't 9 TO 5 rumored to be touring again? That could also be a tour. I would guess that POPPINS is a local production, as are most, if not all, of the others.
Curious as to when BAA will announce in Houston. Right now their website simply says, "Spring."

Thanks.
I have heard it was being done again by the legendary Theatre Under the Stars, which I gather is very much a one of a kind theatre. Have they ever done a show that has toured?

I think the announcements will be rolling. I also know they’re currently in the middle of seasons, so season renewals will be coming soon. I just don’t think any dates are set in stone yet.

Has anyone seen the Rent tour lately? I’m wondering what the running time is - trying to see if I can get from the matinee in Schenectady back to the city for an evening show. Probably a terrible idea, but maybe?

RENT is coming to Philly in early March. The Kimmel Center’s website has a 2hr 35 min run time. Hope that helps!

I was at Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss's 54 Below show last night. In addition to the entire Broadway cast and crew, the as-of-yet unannounced Tour cast was there! We were sitting right next to them and it seemed like one of the first times they've all been together (just as a gauge of where they are in the prep process). I didn't know who any of them were, but they all seemed super cool and fashionable! I'm super curious how accurate my prediction (based on looks and vibes) of who is playing which queen is!

I wonder who will be MD'ing the tour... I happen to know the associate of the Broadway cast, and I could be seeing this relatively soon just for her.

Good god... looks like Les Miserables is going out on tour AGAIN. Hopefully they will keep it as a season add on and not include it in subscription packages.
