GOODBYE XANADU. We will miss you!!!!
"I don't see that many plays, and for me, musicals are rarely pleasing. I feel the actors are being put through a kind of nightmarish labor. They're like animals being forced to pull heavy carts of vegetables at incredible speeds." --- Wallace Shawn
Hello. I second that. It is a wonderful and quirky show which leaves you with a big smile at the end. I'm not sure when "Xanadu" will tour in my neck of the woods. I might have to make a special trip to Chicago to see it there. Hugs and kisses to the entire cast of "Xanadu". from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
I will miss XANADU. We atleast have the movie and the OBCR to look for. As well as the tour! I am now starting to wonder when they come this way! From JES in Fort Worth, TX.
I'm going to miss this show a lot. It was a TON of fun, absolutely hilarious, and featured some of the best comedic stage performances of the last five years.
It was the most genuine fun I've had at a show in a very long time and I'm sorry I didn't get to see it a third and final time before today. I love this show.
Bye, XANADU. You really defied the odds and came out on top.
My favorite Broadway show I've ever seen. I absolutely love it and will be seeing it for a 5th and final time on Broadway today . Sad to see Broadway get a little less gay...
I'm not going to lie... the first time I saw the show, I wasn't crazy about it. That may have been because when the theater let out that night in February... I wasn't sure hwat I had just watched. It wasn't until I listened to the cast recording a day or two after seeing it that I really started to love it and appreciate it. I didn't get a lot of the jokes until seeing the movie and it got a lot funnier to me. Now it is my favorite show and I will HAVE to see the tour.
jacob, A little bird (before the tour was ever even announced) told me it would be heading to Dallas in 2009...
"If it walks like a Parks, if it wobbles like a Parks, then it's definitely fat and nobody loves it." --MA
I have only seen this show a few times but loved it each time I did. It was the most fun I had at any show. I will miss it and it's over the top talented cast.
I am so sad today that words can not even describe. This was truly a great-great show! The only solace I have is that my best friend gave me a dvd of the actual broadway production for my birthday. He found it on ebay. I wish the cast and crew all the best! They are without a doubt the nicest people I have ever met.
After YEARS of wanting to go to New York, Xanadu was the reason I finally pushed and made the trip. What an amazing experience it was sitting onstage... I'll always have fond memories of the show and the cast.
It'll definitely be missed!

I went into this show expecting to hate it, but wow, was I wrong! It turned out to be the best show I had seen all year. The one thing that comes to mind is a quote from The Drowsy Chaperone, "It takes you to another world and gives you a little tune to hum for when you're feeling blue."
I'm on my way to the final show now... I'll miss you, Xanadu!
When I first heard about Xanadu, I honestly did not want to see it because I had no idea what it was or if it was worth going to. Well, after seeing some of the advertisements and seeing it on the Tony awards, I decided it looked like a fun show and really wanted to see it after that.
The first time I saw it, at the beginning of this month, I got very fortunate and lucky to see it last minute. It was just a fun show and great cast. I did not expect anything else but those expectation. Xanadu may not have the most deep story ever, but it should not matter if you just enjoy it.
I went back on Wednesday because it just moved me that much. Well, more in the sense of it being fun. I have seem other shows that were fun too, but I think this topped them all.
And everyone there today, I hope you have so much fun. Even more than I did my 2 times. I will just have very good and fond memories of this show.

I'm gonna miss this show-It was just fun, pure fun-
I wish I could have seen the show for a 4th time-even a 10th time-I don't know if I would ever get sick of it! I wish the cast the best, and I hope everyone going today has a great time! As I'm sure they will!
Like a lot of people, I went in not really expecting all that much. I'd loved the Tony performance, but was still unsure about the whole concept. But I was pleasantly surprised- it was a truly wonderful show that didn't take itself too seriously that allowed the audience to just have a great time. And the performances were wonderful- I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Getting to see it from the stage seats yesterday was amazing and, even though I've only seen it twice, I certainly will miss having it on Broadway. I may have to head back to Chicago to catch the tour (naturally, once I move from Chicago to New York, a show I would love to see again goes to Chicago.....)
Somehow I will stumble along through today, knowing that the little gem over at the Helen Hayes shines for just a day more on Broadway, but brightly in the hearts and minds of those who came to know and love it for its pure joy. Funny, feisty, fierce and fabulous, XANADU was the ultimate great escape, always there to wash away the woes of the world, putting a smile on your face and a pep in your step upon any and every viewing.
It's marriage of music, mirth and magic makes me hopeful for the future, that more of this kind of theater will surface, and soon. In tough times like the present, a show like XANADU is a welcome and necessary diversion.
Best wishes to the talented and wonderful ensemble (cast, crew, band, HH staff, etc) on their next adventure. And for reasons both public and personal, XANADU will remain "here with me...Eternally"
I'm gonna mis this show sooooo much!!! I've followed this show since I heard Kerry Butler would be in it. I remember watching the press rehearsal footage like a million times! And then WonderRobbie's vlog! haha. And when the term fanadu was born. I'm gonna miss everything about this show! The cast, the crew, the fans.. all my love to everyone YOU'RE ALL AMAZING! This was such an amazing journey. "The dream that came thorugh a million years, that lived on through all the tears, it came to XANADU!"
"In theater, the process of it is the experience. Everyone goes through the process, and everyone has the experience together. It doesn't last - only in people's memories and in their hearts. That's the beauty and sadness of it. But that's life - beauty and the sadness. And that is why theater is life." Sherie Rene Scott
I went into this show witha bit of trepidation, sinc eI hated the movie. I've seen it 4 times since then and I love it.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

Xanadu stole my heart at the second preview (Cheyenne stole it a little later than that!), and today it's breaking.I want to wish everybody involved with the show all the best in the future.
