Schmigadoon and Lost Boys both seem to have gotten sizable boosts from their Tony nods.

A good amount of the Tony-nominated shows got some kind of favorable bump last week.
Happy trails to Edred Utomi, Cherry Torres, Marja Harmon, and Ebrin Stanley, who all left HAMILTON on Sunday.

A lot of interesting numbers this week. Seems like anything for the "kids" was crushed this week. Wicked, Aladdin, Six. We know why Chicago dropped this week, but still incredible.

Also, not a bad week at all for MOULIN ROUGE!. Granted, Megan Thee Stallion was still supposed to be in it, but looks like a lot of people kept their tix.

My goodness, BEACHES, close it up already.

My goodness stop telling shows to close when it's not your money to lose.

A show in the Hayes outgrossing a show in the Majestic...yikes. So sad. I just don't know what Beaches' strategy is. I guess producers just want to paper all the way through the limited run so they don't have to say they closed early? Papering constantly has dwindling returns and they are quickly running out of people to paper to.
Nearly every major Tony nominated show got at least some kind of bump. But what's weird is the decrease for Fallen Angels. It's not by a super alarming amount, but it's still strange that a show that got so many nominations, including in the very competitive Revival of a Play category, actually fell by over $60K. Did Roundabout have some sort of special night(s) this past week that had a sizeable chunk of comps?
A little worried that Cats still didn't quite break the $1 million mark even after the Tony nominations. It feels like they are just hovering around their breakeven. This perhaps speaks to the difficulty in getting the general public to understand the concept behind ballroom? Perhaps a really engaging Tony performance can boost their sales more.

Kelli was out for both performances on Saturday because of a pre-scheduled concert. I saw her understudy Tina Benko at the matinee, she was terrific

With Book of Mormon canceling all of its performances last week, I wonder which shows those theatergoers chose to see instead.
I’m impressed by Every Brilliant Thing’s grosses as it got the 2nd highest overall. I looked at ticket prices next week and the week after and orchestra prices are $894 and $994. I wonder if it will break the Hudson theater record?

Nice jumps for Schmigadoon, The Lost Boys, Rocky Horror and Titanique. Tony noms make a difference, at least in the short term. Less so for Two Strangers but it's been open awhile. It needs the win.
I know it was a huge overperformer last week but that Chicago drop is wild. Casting is everything for that particular show.
Just waiting on the official word for Beaches.
Chess strikes me as an end of summer closing.
Aladdin has been looking weaker and weaker except for big tourist weeks. I wonder when Disney will pull the plug. Probably not until something is ready to go right in.
Six has looked rough forever. I know its cost is low by my goodness. 55% capacity and lower than Becky Shaw and Beaches
Obviously it's not in an trouble but just a note that this is the lowest grossing non-Covid era, full week for Wicked since May 2004

Do we see a world in which Wicked closes anytime soon?

Can't believe Radcliffe is getting 1.8M for a solo show, damn!
This is also to all the doubters for SALESMAN at the Winter Garden, amazing numbers.
Also: Six and Death Becomes Her, baby it's time!

I am flabbergasted that Death is filling the Winter Garden, which is an awful theatre for any drama. I don't know what makes a 'legendary' production, but I am guessing that this will be viewed in the future as a legendary production. It will actually be a shame if it loses the Best Revival Tony because of Rudin hate.
How much money are the producers of Six going to lose before they conclude it is time to move it off-broadway or close it?
Happy to see that Just in Time filled the theatre and the grosses went up. I guess, when all is said and done, this will be the biggest hit musical from last season, despite not getting a Tony nomination for Best Musical, which is usually pretty easy.
What happened to Oh! Mary! I expected every Maya Rudolph performance to sell-out. Was she out at all?

Yes, Maya was out over the weekend at Oh, Mary! but was back last night (presuming she was sick.) Still an impressive haul with her being out for half of the performances.
I don't see Wicked closing anytime too soon, but $84 ATP?? Yikes. Must be some quiet papering / discounts floating around?
Curious if we'll see it appear at TKTS occasionally. (I feel like it'd clean up.)

Fallen Angels has already been addressed by another commenter, but just wanted to add that the rest of their run is completely sold out. This seems to have become a semi-hot ticket, at least at the prices they were charging. Curious to see if this reflects in their grosses in the next couple of weeks.
re: cats, I don't think it's too surprising that people aren't getting the concept when they're not really doing anything to make that happen. I had no idea what was going on with the in-memoriam-but-not-actually-in-memoriam slideshow of people at the beginning of the second act and then later found out that I was supposed to watch a documentary as homework beforehand. Whoops!

I've never watched Paris is Burning, though I did watch Pose. I don't think any prior knowledge of ballroom is necessary to enjoy this production, and the act 2 opener was pretty easy to understand without actually knowing who many of the folx were who were shown. My two pre-teens only knew my few sentence explanation of ballroom and it's one of their favorite things they've seen and they fully understood the dramatic arcs the production created.
