I'm going Saturday. Can not wait.
I loved Heidi in [title of show] and am very excited for her for this opportunity, but I don't think I can sit through TLM again unless I was comped. And even then, all I'd just really want to see is Heidi tackle "Poor Unfortunate Souls."

I am, and I can't wait! Girl is going to ROCK the tentacles!
Knowing that she'll be in the show has me so tempted to see it BUT I'd rather wait until she settles into the role a bit before I go...
Going on Friday night. Hope to see at least one review tonight *fingers crossed*

Ooh--I'll have to go back to see it just for her! Wish I had gotten to see Sherie one last time, but I'm sure Heidi will be equally amazing.

and once again kalimba attempts to be obnoxious.
At least she's pretty.
(EDIT: Meaning Kalimba. Though Heidi is gorgeous, too, of course.)
I'll be there!
My friend is ushering and texted me even before she sang "OMG She's is phenomenally hysterical!"
No report about her singing yet.
Anyone in from the show?

I saw the show tonight and Heidi was fabulous. She absolutely stole the show and was getting thunderous applause from a mainly dead audience (and not only from the tossers in the student rush seats). I saw Sherie in June, and I thought she was rather boring in the role. I would have liked to have seen her at the beginning of her run to see how she probably was when she was in her prime, but she really doesn't have an excuse for phoning in shows. Heidi was much more exciting in my opinion. Her comedic timing was great, her voice was in tip-top shape and she only has room to grow after her first show. The rest of the show was good tonight. I found the overall production better than the first time I saw it. Sierra was pretty much the same as I remembered, but still great. The ensemble seemed a little more alive tonight than my last outing to Mermaid. Overall, it was a great performance.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I hope to see it later this week cuz I'll take almost any chance to hear Heidi singing on the stage!

Heidi was great. She just needs more stage time. This was my first time seeing the show, and I thought it was awful. Just an eye sore and a hot mess. The acting was fine, I mean, everyone was committed to their roles, but the show is just bad. I found myself daydreaming quite a bit, and not really into the show at all. The sets were ugly and boring, and the costumes were just awful. Whoever thought those colors looked good should be fired. I just expected more from a Disney musical on Broadway. There weren't any surprises. Ursula's "death" was over in two seconds. Heidi's singing was, of course, great, but the role doesn't really require a great singer. It was mostly speaking singing, with a few belt notes here and there. Didn't quite make sense since she wanted Ariel's voice, but it's like, well, Ursula has the better voice...so? And I don't think many of the kids understood the whole "Ariel is singing in her head now" during Act II because all the kids around me kept asking their parents. That just seemed like a stupid choice, especially since they didn't do anything to indicate it. There was one really subtle lighting choice, and that's it.
