most of those shows were JUST on broadway or were JUST revived.

????
Light in the Piazza just closed a few months ago, as did The Odd Couple.
Grease will be back in June -- a tv reality series will cast Sandy and Danny.
Chitty was a megaflop that lost many millions and will never be seen again (at least on Broadway).
Footloose also flopped and will never be revived here.
There's been talk of Guys and Dolls coming back yet again sometime (it's currently running in London)
West Side Story
Hair
I also call for a revival of the recent thread we just had on this exact same topic.
EDIT: Oh boy! Looks like I'm the producer of this one:

EDIT PART DEUX: I'm reviving the revival...now with casts!:

And maybe in 10 or 15 years, a Dirty Rotten Scoundrels revival...just because that show my first Broadway love.
Miss Saigon
Hair
Jesus Christ Superstar
Tommy
Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Hello, Dolly!
Chess
Sunset Boulevard

Unfortunately, most of the shows I want revived are because I didn't get a chance to catch them the first time. To me that is what it is about. Yeah, it's great to see how a producer or new cast would add to it, but it's so that new people can expereince it. Cabaret for example, which was already a revival, and I wish it'd come back again so I can see it live. I really didn't know too much about it when it was around the last time, and now I have fallen in love with the music and kick myself for not realizing it sooner. So my vote would be Cabaret, Aida, & Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Just my opinion.
oh and Chess

I would like to see some revivals of shows that haven't been revived for the simple reason that they're scared to recast someone's else MAJOR role, i.e., Funny Girl and Hello Dolly! I would also like to see some revivals/revisals of Jerry Herman's stuff. Revive- Mame / Milk and Honey [] Revise (or revive) Mack and Mabel / Dear World / The Grand Tour
HELLO, DOLLY has been revived multiple times.
But I guess you mean a revival without Channing.
Jerome Robbins Broadway
Me & My Girl
Crazy for You
Will Rogers Follies
...any show with a nice-sized chorus

I would love to see a MACK & MABEL revival. The show is just not very good, but the score is beyond fantastic.
And I know that BALLROOM isn't a great show either, but it's a wonderful star vehicle for an older actress, and it has a terrific score - especially the leading lady's 3 big songs. God, I love that show.
Seriously for me..
CITY OF ANGELS
KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN
BYE BYE BIRDIE
I agree with CITY OF ANGELS and BYE BYE BIRDIE. The latter is well overdue.
I have never liked KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN...I don't know why.

And apparently Bennett's staging for BALLROOM was quite brilliant (as always) and the choreography (w/Bob Avian) won the Tony. I'd love to see it recreated sometime, though, given all the book problems, perhaps it's something that Encores should do, rather than a full revival.

ANNIE will be back, playing at Madison Square Garden for the month of December this year.
Ewwww. Annie should go away.
