Sometimes (not always)that’s wishful thinking or a way to drum up investors and never transpires. Such as Landau’s other recent musical, Transparent."
It's coming. :)
I should add, this one certainly FEELS more real than some of the other announced-but-never-produced shows, considering Menzel's involvement as the star and a contributing writer.
Prob just waiting for another show to announce a closing

Redwood has a theater that's currently occupied. There's lots of turnover coming.

This would be a nice fit at the Schoenfeld, Broadhurst, or Music Box.
Or the Nederlander.

Occupied but soon to be vacant? Vacant but soon to be occupied then vacant again?

Gun & Powder had also planned on transferring, so adding Ciara Renee into that mix of contenders for Best Actress would make it even more exciting. However, with Audra's Gypsy having passing for white as a theme in the production, combined with the stacked musical lineup next season, I wonder if G & P has decided to hold off till next year, or do another regional run in the meantime.

Do people here just forget every single thing you know about this industry when new shows get announced or what? Shows without dates and theatres announce *ALL* the time that way? Sunset Blvd as a recent example. And it’s almost always because they’ve been guaranteed a theatre but the current tenant hasn’t announced closing yet, but all parties have the understanding that it will close.
