I loves me so Megan, but I don't see her as Lalume'....
If you've listened to her albums, I personally think she's got a pretty strong voice... she tackles a range of songs, and she's definitely not about to sell out! (She sings everything from "Lonely at the Top" to "Johanna").
I honestly think she could tackle any part she tried, but I might have a tiny crush on her...
"Forget this talkshow
crap.
The gal is insanely
talented and she has
one heck of a following.
Yes? "
Yes.
Didn't she sing on the Emmy's last year or something? With Donald Trump? The Green Acres theme song. It was hilarious.
Maybe she doesn't want to come back to Broadway. She is probably very contented living in LA, after all she would hardly need the money and eight shows a week is a hell of a slug week in, week out.
Sorry 'bout the typo.
It was obvious anyway
who I as referring to...
right?
Yeah, one of CurtainPullDowner's many very obvious sock puppets.
Oh sorry, I thought you were referring to yourself.
SCOT THIS IS NOT MYSPACE
PLEASE CEASE AND DESIST
I bet she's likely to come back to Broadway with the right project. On one of her shows (I think it was with Audra McDonald) she said if she wasn't doing her show, Broadway was where she'd be.

i will donate $100 for a production cost to bring Megan on Broadway as Mame.
hey if we all do this, we'll raise the money... LOL

I think you can like both though! I mean, Mary-Louise Parker or Blythe Danner have been increasingly prominent in LA the last few years, but neither of them have dropped their connection with the stage. I think that, now that Megan has a name for herself in the west, she could take some time to come back and have fun on stage. I mean, she's been in live comedy for the last ten years, after all.
I'd think she would be a good Chaperone in Drowsy.
I was thinking that same thing about DROWSY
and so were my socks
Ursula in Little Mermaid?
(keeping in mind she's almost 50, although she doesn't look it)
Mama Morton?
Dolly?
Dorothy Brock in 42nd Street?
Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes?
Lilli in Kiss Me, Kate?
The Baker's Wife
She could be Dory in Finding Nemo.
Charlotte or Desiree in Night Music?
Okay, now I'm just fantasising to suit my own sick tastes...
Even though I think she might be totally wrong for the role, I think she would make an awesome Glinda. Not sure about her soprano range though. If anything, put her back into the Grease revival again.
oh god...
they're reviving Grease...
I HAVE IT.
Amneris in Aida.
B3TA07, I'll pay that!
And yes, is it worth seeing Grease revived again just for her?
Well, maybe...

How about she comes back in something new and or original? Not a revival or a show based on a movie or a show where she plays her own instrument. Now that would be something special.
Can you imagine if Doyle got a hold of Grease? "What's that playin' on the radio"
nothing...they're all playing their instruments onstage...
As stated, she is of a certain age and has the money to choose her projects, so she needs no dumb ass revival of GREASE.
But She has the comic timing and Voice to pull of an Amazing Reno Sweeney.

jimnysf, I think you have a point - but admittedly that's harder to speculate about!
"Can you imagine if Doyle got a hold of Grease?"
Hee hee hee, now I'm imagining Sandy reimagined as a jukebox.
"She has the comic timing and Voice to pull of an Amazing Reno Sweeney."
Reno is SO Megan. I'd kill to see her sing Blow, Gabriel, Blow.
I would put my money on her coming back in The First Wives Club (presumably as Brenda.)
She was mentioned on Liz Smith's shortlist of 'name' actresses the producers were persuing, and I have a feeling that the production is notable enough and will have big enough co-stars that it will be able to bring Mullaly back if they want her.
Even if TFWC doesn't work out, she seems to be enthusiastic about returning to the stage anywhere. While I could deffinetly see her as the title character in The Drowsy Chaperone, I think the role is a little too much like Karen Walker. I'd rather see her persue something a bit different.
Here's to hoping she comes back somewhere sometime soon!
The Baker's Wife
I'd love to see that.
