Anne Hathway was more of a box office actress who has shown to be brilliant actress capable of complexity in Rachel Getting Married. Out of all the offers she is getting now (Judy Garland, Women with Parkinsons), I think she will be smart enough not to take a role so wrong for her. Some can argue she has done dark characters and can sing but I just can't imagine her as a convincing Elphaba. I vote Emily Blunt for Elphaba. Brilliant actress, brilliant vocalist.

Patty Duke as Madame Morrible. She is already doing the part in SF production.
Maybe it will be like the Miracle Worker in which she played Helen Keller in the play and then played Helen Keller in the movie and won the Oscar

Elphaba: Lisa Kudrow
Madame Morrible: Elvira, Mistress of the Dark
Peter Pan (Elphie's flying companion and special "friend"): Cathy Rigby

And if they're looking to cut costs they can ditch the "Time Dragon" since Flav already has the clock around his neck.

Jordan, you are cracking me up! :) If they really want to save money they can make a Lifetime or Oxygen Network movie and cast LeAnne Rimes and Marissa Jaret Winokur as Glinda and Elphaba. Janice Dickinson or Lisa Rinna can play Morrible and Gregory Harrison can be the Wizard. Casper Van Dien or James VanDerBeeck can play a C-list Fiyero. I'm sure Tori Spelling would make a great Nessa.

Elphaba: Lea Michele (Glee, Spring Awakening)
Glinda: Amy Adams (Enchanted)

An awesome Fiyero would be Mathew Morrison (Hairspray,South Pacific), but two Glee cast members in the same movie would be a bit crazy.

I could definitely see Lea Michele. Ummm.. Amy Adams is like 35? She'd be as old as Cheno when/if they make the movie. You have atleast another 3,4,5.... years til this movie even comes out. So, I mean you'll probably have a new star in 2 to 4 years, but my favorite so far (given 4 to 6 years) would be Allie Trimm (Bye Bye Birdie, 13)

This makes no sense. You say that Julie should play her ONLY if she gets her voice back? Carol Kane has NEVER sung the role.

Julie is more than just her singing voice.

I never said Julie Andrews can't act. Her acting is INCREDIBLE. It was a stupid thing for me to say though.

Morrible isn't a required singing role. Many of the actresses have talked their way through it.

If they want her to do it then they will ask her regardless of her voice.
