I think I remember a VERY high stage at the Lyceum. Is this still true? This makes front row orchestra horrible.....
Yes, the stage is pretty high. Probably best to sit 4 or 5 rows back.
That's what I thought, thanks for the input. I believe that was the theatre that "Dracula" was in, and people were actually moving out of the first few rows since the couldn't see from there....
Belasco have a high stage too?
Did "I am my own wife" play the Lyceum then?
Just wnat to avoid getting close seats (at the Lyceum) to a stage I won't be able to see much of....
Thanks again!
I don't remember the stage being that high at the Belasco, I sat in the front a few times for Passing Strange and it wasn't an issue.
I AM MY OWN WIFE did play the Lyceum.
Try to sit in the Orchestra section, the set is divided into two rooms, so if you sit on the side you might miss some parts
Didn't know that (about the two rooms). Thanks for the advice! I am assuming you are referring to the "In the Next Room (or the vibrator play)" ? That's what I'm looking for tickets for.....

Blech, I'm sitting in the front row this week... Oh well, maybe I'll be able to move.
yea I am referring to In The Next room, and trust me, this is the one play that you should see all the characters facial expressions. If you don't you'll just hear the melody of orgasms
Yes, I've noticed Row A tickets available for certain days for this play, and was wondering if they are basically restricted view for someone of normal (I'm 5'8") height.....
Worth getting?
I would say that just for the fact that the set is split you'd be better off sitting at least five rows back, just for the convenience of not having to turn your head frequently.

ken, I'm sitting in Row A on wednesday and I'm 5'4, so I'll report back. Hopefully it won't be that bad...
It's a little unpredictable. I sat in the front row for Reasons To Be Pretty, and it was fine. But I remember seeing Is He Dead? there, and being glad I wasn't in the front row.
Reasons To Be Pretty had very little action really at the lip of the stage, which might have helped.
They took out the front row (which was AA) for In the Next Room, so the front row is technically the second row. I sat there and I'm 5'6 - the view isn't so bad in terms of the stage's height.

I thought the front row was great. I agree with the post who said you want to be up close for this show - the facial expressions add a lot. There were a few short parts where I had to crane my neck to see, but nothing too bad.
The show itself is fantastic, I was not expecting to love it as much as I did.
