Has a Kennedy Center production ever transferred to Broadway? #jumpingthegun
I love America. Just because I think gay dudes should be allowed to adopt kids and we should all have hybrid cars doesn't mean I don't love America.

I'm really starting to believe her being a replacement in Night Music was a favor she did to secure this role. She's said that the role of Desiree came up when she and Sondheim were discussing "another project." This would seem to be it.
ETA....Stritch for Carlotta? I'm sure she'd be interested!

"Additionally, BroadwayWorld.com has learned that starring alongside Peters will be Sex and the City star and Golden Globe winner Kim Cattrall as Phyllis, Danny Gurwin as Buddy and John Dossett as Ben."
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Wow Kim Cattrall is certain to dazzle as Phyllis! And the Sally/Ben dynamic will be wonderful to watch as Bernadette and John Dossett worked together in Gypsy.
Cattrall is a dedicated stage performer from way before her SEX AND THE CITY days, she only has one Broadway production to her name but she is more familiar to West End audiences. She recently did a production of PRIVATE LIVES that was supposed to transfer to Broadway, not sure if that's still happening. Either way, nothing to worry about. I doubt she's much of a singer but then again neither was Alexis Smith. I can't wait! I really want to see this. I can't believe I worried myself thinking that Maria Friedman would end up playing Sally, Peters is inspired casting!
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
