Sad to admit I recognized him from 90210.
He's cute. :)
Indeed he is.
Here he is singing

Well, there's LOTS of video of him singing on youtube. Nice voice, and extremely easy on the eyes.
This is the most exciting news I have heard here. I've liked him since he was a young kid starring in telenovelas for children. I'm really happy to hear he's doing well.

theres honestly no reason constantine should have been passed over.....
For those curious ones, here he is.

He seems like he'll do a fine job, but I would have preferred Constantine.
As most of you know, I detest ROCK OF AGES, however I had to chime into this thread and say how horrible it is that Constantine will not be in the movie. This is really terrible and I feel awful for him. He has dedicated the past 3+ years to this show and he deserves to be a part of the movie.
Hopefully something good will happen to him after this setback in his life.

Yes there is. Constantine is almost 36. Drew is a young guy.
Seriously, Drew is a young aspiring rocker. I don't want to see a movie where Sherrie falls in love with her father.
This is like saying Marissa Jaret Winokur should have played Tracy in the Hairspray movie, or that Jennifer Holiday should have played Effie in Dreamgirls.

just wondering... is Constantine really that good? i just don't get his appeal... I saw him RENT and thought he was AWFUL... I couldn't stand his singing and his lack of acting... and I disliked him more on American Idol... I didn't care for the clips of him in Rock of Ages and it's one of the reasons why I didn't see the show when it was in LA will wait till it comes to San Diego next year hopefully without him... what is his appeal?
I've never been sure what his appeal is. There are better singers out there, lord knows there are better actors out there. And it's not like he's the epitome of good looks. . .
I've seen Rock of Ages more times that you'd like to know, and I loved it with him, and I love it without him. His fans have this idea that he MAKES the show and without him it is nothing. Not true. Not true at all.
Rock Of Ages is a fun show without Constantine.
But with him it is outstanding.
He has amazing charisma- can't explain it.
I do have to disagree with Jp2- Constantine made the show what it is today. Without him it never would have made it to Broadway.
& Diego has not been cast yet according to Shankman.

Wow. Can't wait to hear him sing! This is the first positive news I've heard about the film.
Yeah, sorry this whole "Constantine MAKES the show. It is nothing without him. He is the reason it is successful" thing is utter bull ****.
I'm sorry he has been stuck in the same show for the last 3 years. I mean, I doubt it's by choice really.
why are all the young ones HOT...he is only like 21 years old!!!
What do you mean by stuck?
Who leaves a hit show?
Constantine created the character. He developed the role making Drew a believable and endearing character.
He promoted the hell out of it. Worked to bring people from all over the country to see it- repeatedly. He performed it for 2 years - to perfection. His voice is amazing. He was nominated for a Tony and recognized for his achievements by different organizations. I think he made the show what it is.
I have seen other actors in all the roles, still a good show. Without Constantine there is something missing. Didn't one of the producers/directors say "He is the heart and soul of the show"?
I agree. I'm not asking you to agree with me- It's my opinion- that's what this board is for.

Constantine doesn't exactly look his age.

eh... then he's not really making the show since you say other people have done it and it's still a good show... but whatever... i still don't get the appeal
