This movie will NEVER happen.... maybe it's made-for-tv. I can't believe they were ballsy enough to put out a press release. Don't hold your breath. Let's put this on the shelf with "In the Heights" and "Batboy"

I'm with those who say if Lea returns, let the whole original trio reprise their roles. I too genuinely love SA- especially with those 3- and hope it works out well.

She's too old. Despite her terrible acting on Glee and NYE. I thought she was quite wonderful in Spring Awakening under a trained director. As of her current work......

Lea Michele, despite being annoying as hell, was good in Spring Awakening. She can have this as long as she stays far far far far far far far away from the Wicked and Into the Woods movies.

According to Wik... Mr McG wants to make this an independent film for 25 mil from his own company and film it in 6 weeks, Then he can start on TINK, a live action about Tinkerbell (not kidding).

Wedekind subtitled Spring Awakening as a children's tragedy.

The team that created Spring Awakening the musical didn't seem too concerned with most of what Wedekind did, so why expect that the movie would be any different?

True. Wouldn't it be awesome (or, at the very least, interesting) to just see a fresh take and go back to the text?

I think this has the potential to be a good movie with the right people. So far, nope, not the right people.
