I'm going. It's the only performance I can go to, since it's at the very end of my current NY visit, and I probably won't be back for several months.
"End of the Rainbow" iTunes Album. Fabulous! In her own right, Traci's a great singer. What a strangely beautiful and powerful "performance", w/o the drag queen element. No, it's not Judy, it's the essence of Judy and more (of Traci). .. just my 2 cents. And, of course, 13 of the greatest popular songs ever written. Whether the play is up to snuff, well, who knows? Can not wait!
Yep. I agree. It's not quite Garland, but Traci is great in her own right.
I'm going again.
I keep forgetting this show is happening. I'm normally such a stickler when it comes to portrayals of Judy Garland, but I'm strangely intrigued by this one.
Sarah Uriarte Berry is standing by for Tracie Bennett, which I find really intriguing.
Wow, that's SOME standby role! How one performer can do 9-10 songs/8 shows/wk - at THAT caliber is aastounding.
I think I'm correct in saying that Tracie rarely (if never) missed a performance in the UK.

I don't find it intriguing that Bennett has a standby at all. I find it intriguing that Uriarte (who I can't see playing Judy Garland for a plethora of reasons) is the one covering her.

I know I saw Sarah Uriate Berry in something. I can't remember what though. Someone refresh my memory. What has she done?
Les Miz, Beauty and the Beast, Piazza...
Uriate's best performance was as Nicola in TABOO, though I would have loved to have seen her the few times she went on as Diana in NEXT TO NORMAL.
Wasn't the first preview tonight? Was anyone there? How was it?

This thread says the first preview is the 19th.
Sarah Uriate Berry has at least one thing going for her - she's the right size.
