For those who claim the Tonys have no weight. Look at them falling one after one... Oh, the horror!

Not a surprise. It was a bad show with no substance.

That's what happens when you rush a show to Broadway. Now just waiting for Leap of Faith.

magic bird was no lombardi. It will be easily forgotten. That show belonged more on tour, not on broadway.

I found some things to like about it, even though I'm hardly a basketball fan. Peter Scolari was funny and effective in multiple roles, albeit fairly undeveloped ones. There was a good dose of humanity underlying the rivalry scenes, and I found myself caring about Johnson and Bird. Great play? No. But it largely held my attention for its 95 minutes, which is more than I can say about a lot of plays that garnered more positive notices. Exception: the overly long kitchen-table scene.

I think a LACK of Tony noms is the difference you see. Leap would have closed yesterday too, if they hadn't gotten any: now they are struggling to stay open. (As ticket sales aren't likely to increase -- but we shall see.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I think the show will do well on tour. I actually enjoyed it, sad to see it closing
