Just out of curiosity, what would the musical number order/track listing be? Listening to the musical numbers used in Smash for Bombshell, I was wondering how they fit into the plot. Thoughts?
My logical guess would be:
1. Let Me Be Your Star
2. Second Hand White Baby Grand
3. 20th Century Fox Mambo
4. Never Met a Wolf
5. The Great American Pasttime
6. Smash
7. Mr & Mrs Smith
8. Let's Be Bad
9. Don't Say Yes Until Ive Finished Talking
10. Lexington and 52nd St
11. Don't Forget Me
Don't forget "Dig Deep", "History Is Made At Night", and "Never Give All The Heart".
For sure, the "Let Me Be Your Star" prologue is first, and "Don't Say Yes" leads into "Smash!", also "Second Hand White Baby Grand" leads into a reprise of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith", which then leads to "Don't Forget Me".
I was curious about this myself.
I don't know how reliable this is, but here is a song list: http://smash.wikia.com/wiki/Bombshell

I think Second Hand White Baby Grand would be later in the show. It's too reflective to be put early in the show.
The end lyrics are:
"That Secondhand White Baby Grand that still has something beautiful to give
I still have something beautiful to give"
Too early in the show for Marilyn to be singing that.
We saw both Karen and Uma singing "Secondhand White Baby Grand" at the end, right before they died. It's possible it was a reprise, but it definitely feels like an Act II song.
99.9% sure that that was meant to be a brief, "touching" death bed reprise.
I agree with Eric, that's a tiny little reprise of a full song.
If I had it my way:
Act One:
Let Me Be Your Star (Norma Jean)
Don't Say Yes Until I'm Finished Talking (Zanuck)
Smash (Female Ensemble)
The 20th Century Fox Mambo (Marilyn)
The National Pastime (Marilyn & New York Yankees)
Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Marilyn & DiMaggio)
I Never Met A Wolf Who Didn't Love to Howl (Marilyn & Troops)
On Lexington & 52nd Street (DiMaggio)
Act Two:
Dig Deep (Marilyn & Students)
Never Give All The Heart (Marilyn)
Let's Be Bad (Marilyn & Chorus Girls)
Second Hand White Baby Grand (Marilyn)
Happy Birthday Mr. President (Marilyn)
History is Made At Night (Marilyn & JFK)
Second Hand White Baby Grand Reprise (Marilyn)
Mr. & Mrs. Smith Reprise (DiMaggio)
Don't Forget Me (Marilyn)

From looking at past episodes as well as looking at the years reasons why she went to therapy as suggested by Strasberg to Dig Deep inside. When she went to Korea shortly after marrying Damaggio The songlist I came up with Is mainly chronological order to her life, the only things that I question about are some of the scenes that were shown in the preview episode It went from Mr. and Mrs smith to Zanuck scene followed by smash.... in life Zanuch made those tomato comments about her 2 years before she even met Joe. But what they could have done was embellish the timeline for a better storyline, like Gypsy is a Musical "fable" this could also be a stretch.....And I feel at the end of the last episode where Ivy was about to take pills lexington n 52nd street were followed by the suicide scene, so I'm assuming it might have been a reprise if so late in the show since that was about the Seven Year Itch scene, and later songs reflect actors studio Lee Strasberg(Dig Deep), Second Hand(Therapy on couch)and Lets Be Bad(The Prince and the Showgirl) which happened later in her life.
Act 1
Let Me Be Your Star
The 20th Century Fox Mambo
National Past Time
History is Made at Night
Mr. and Mrs Smith
I never Met a Wolf Who didn't love to howl
Dont Say Yes Until I finsh Talking
Smash
On Lexington and 52nd street
Act 2
Dig Deep
Second Hand White Baby Grand
Lets Be Bad
Never Give All the Heart
Lexington and 52nd Street reprise?
Second Hand Reprise
Mr. and Mrs Smith Reprise
Don't Forget me
I feel like History Is Made At Night should be Marilyn and JFK number and come late in the second act.
They could write a different song for Marilyn and DiMaggio, and Marilyn needs a song with Arthur Miller.
