The show I'm opening tonight is listed! How marvelous!

Not to sound shilly, but it's FRANKENSTEIN UPSTAIRS at the Secret Theater in Long Island City. And I'm really proud of it!

I would like to see Choir Boy.

TDF has tickets to First Date, in case anyone is interested.

That seems to be more like 20 shows that are playing this summer more than the top picks.

I hate these slideshows, why can't they just list a damn list?

Money. Slideshows allow websites to generate ad revenue for each pageview.

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

It doesn't seem like a list of top 20, but rather 20 that are opening this summer. Anyhow, here is the list so people can avoid the slideshow:

Nobody Loves You
Somewhere Fun
Venice
Rantoul and Die
The Comedy of Errors
Frankenstein Upstairs
The Designated Mourner
Buyer & Cellar
The Two-Character Play
The Explorers Club
The Ice Factory
The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin
Choir Boy
First Date
Forever Tango
Shun-kin
Let It Be
Encores! Violet
Love’s Labour’s Lost
New York International Fringe Festival

I am curious about Rantoul and Die, as well as The Two Character Play, would appreciate feedback on either.

macnyc, Choir Boy was up on TDF too. Just for the first few performances, if you did not grab a ticket then, keep your eyes open. I am seeing it next week.

seen 2 of these shows already and they were not good. I agree looks like a list of openings rather than picks to see.

Encore's Violet is sold out!

I enjoyed Comedy of Errors. Played for laughs, with swing dancing. I would say to definitely see it if the lines aren't too long.

Explorers Club was so-so.

I caught Buyer and Cellar in its previous incarnation. I thought it was cute. Others seemed to find more in it to enjoy than I did. Your mileage will vary.

Looking forward to Love's Labour's Lost!
