My partner has been talking about this show for years and wanted to know when it would be released on DVD. I preordered it for his Christmas present. He will be thrilled!
I have only seen a few episodes on reruns, and they were great fun. Looking forward to revisiting the series!
As of right now, the amazon preorder price for the Blu Ray version has gone up to $269.97. I guess I'm glad I preordered it at $188.98. The demand for this must be pretty high.
As far as Amazon goes, it appears to me that the higher the demand, the lower the price. If they get enough pre-orders, or sell enough copies, the price seems to go down, not up.
That said, Amazon prices, in general, are not as low as they used to be. When it came to DVDS and Blus, they almost always had the best prices. No longer so.
Hmmmmm...then maybe not enough people preordered it at the original $188.98 price, so the price went up 80 bucks? I guess we will see what the price is a few days before it is released. Usually, for amazon, the few days leading up to the release date yields the best (lowest) prices.
In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing this series on DVD.
The Comic-Con panel occurred with Adam West, Burt Ward, Julie Newmar, and I think even Lee Meriwether made an appearance. There was a before and after presentation of the Blu-Ray improvement and one of my friends there, who reviews BluRays for a living, said the restoration was stunning.
When I was a kid watching the reruns on Nick At Night, I always loved the Bat Girl episodes. Catwoman was my favorite villain. I should have known then.
It's interesting to revisit some of season 3 now on YouTube- you can clearly see how downhill the show went when their budget got cut. The pacing is frantic (since they went from an hour to 30 minutes) and the sets (particularly the villain lairs) are nothing more than 2D backdrops. As a kid, none of that registered with me
The gift set explains the hefty price. I've seen they are also releasing Season One, and just the full season set also, but so far they just show DVD, not blu-ray for those. I'll hold out for the blu-ray set with less bells and whistles attached.
I really don't need or want trading cards and a model car.
I hope they release a discs-only version without the swag. I have two of those steroidal "gift sets" (for Wizard of Oz and Gone With the Wind). That's enough, with the books, and booklets, and pamphlets, and fold-outs, and wristwatches, and Xeroxed production schedules, and tin containers, and ...
I just want to watch the show, restored, in HD.

They also will be releasing sets containing one season each, starting with season 1. It will be released on November 11, the same day as the complete set. Amazon lists it for $27.99.
Presumably, the other 2 seasons will follow eventually.
I have had the complete series on DVD for a while not (The full uncut versions, not the ones aired), but having an official release will be nice, especially if it's re-mastered. My set only cost me 20.00, So i can wait till the official release comes down a little. LOL
Anybody got any photos of Robin before the edit? It must have been pretty big, because they had no problem with Adam West's bulging all out. LOL
