Hello all, Saw If/Then for the second time - Sunday, August 3rd - and loved it even more! Many of the actors came out the stage door and were so gracious. We had a nice, quiet crowd. Unfortunately, Idina did not come out, and I was so disappointed. We casually spoke to a gentleman who was working the door after the fact - we bumped into him on the street - and he said she left the building through another exit. and she felt so bad about not signing autographs. I totally understand how exhausting 8 shows a week must be, plus balancing motherhood etc. My question is - does she normally do stage door appearances during the week? I would like to try again after an evening performance. Thank you all for your time!!
When I went after a Sunday matinee in June, she didn't go out the stage door, but instead, went out the theater exit and straight into her car (I know she's not obligated to come out, I don't need that speech) So, I asked the stage manager if she usually does Sunday matinees, and he said that she comes out 98% of the time on Sundays, and that chances are she had somewhere to be (What's kind of funny is that whenever she has somewhere to be, it's always on a Sunday). Anyway, the stage manager also said that I'm better off coming back another night, so I'm going back tomorrow night, so I'll let you know how it goes!
Her weekend runs from the end of show Sunday through the start of the show on Tuesday, so that would be why she may have to skip stage door on Sundays more often than other days.
I know this sounds kind of crazy, but I'm seeing the show next week and I really want to meet Idina and I know how crowded the stage door is, but do you think I could get my brother (who's not seeing the show) to save a spot for me? Would it be easy to get to him if he was in the front or would I get attacked by her hardcore fans?
You might be able to switch spots with your brother, but depending on how packed the stage door is, I doubt you will be able to secure a spot right up front along with him. You will definitely be able to pass up your playbill to him. As long as you aren't disturbing anyone else's spot, you will be fine. The fans won't attack you lol. They are far too focused on meeting Idina!
