I forgot all about starting this thread. I actually brought it up to Roy (Bianca Del Rio) last month and was curious about the prospects of it still transferring and they want to do it but it’s now more of a “wouldn’t it be nice...”

I imagine if the film does ok in the US they could certainly transfer.
JC, You obviously travel a lot, see many shows and know a lot of people, as you keep telling us, but this previous post saying you brought it up with 'Roy', who? and then told us who he is, that was genius---thanks.
Unfortunately, that move had to be made; a second wave is almost certain to hit the nation around mid-September.
I don't know how Americans will respond to this movie; not all West End hits generate the same appeal overseas. Perhaps the release could boost a potential Broadway transfer?
...sometimes respond differently to a show. "Buddy" was a great success in London; big flop in NYC. "Blood Brothers" ran and ran in London, 21 years, but only two years in NYC. The Queen musical "We Will Rock You" had a healthy West End run and no producer has chanced it on Broadway. It would be costly to make investment decisions solely because London audiences have enthusiastically applauded "Jamie." New York auds will or will not do the same.
The only thing that stood out to me that I thought they'd need to adapt for an American audience is when the bully (Dean) calls Jamie a certain word (a chilling scene centres on this word). It's a particular UK slang term and not really known in North America.
