Announcements for subscribers should start sometime late next month early February, as you said. Beyond that, it’s a waiting game. Especially with COVID and everything. Patience is the name of the game y’all

Hi! Unfortunately, I won't have the time to do my traditional spreadsheet for the touring shows this season. I can start a chat thread, but I'm spread as thin as I can be at the moment. Hopefully, someone will take up the mantle.

As for season announcements, I've reached out to a few venues that have been January announcers in the past and none have any firm dates. I would suspect that Baltimore will be in its usual time (mid-January), but I'll be very interested in seeing how things play out this announcement season.

Again, a lot of venues right now are in the midst of their seasons. Even if you reached out now, they’d tell you to call back closer to late January-early February, even March because right now is way too soon. Patience :)

Speaking as someone who (for one lol) actually KNOWS about these types of things, I know it’s a little too early to know which shows are going to specific venues right now. You have to wait.

Because of the enforced 18 months Covid hiatus, not many shows.

I wonder what new shows could go on the road, think there would be slim pickings but would also say Tina: The Tina Turner & Girl From the North Country are dead certs. I think the plays like The Inheritance, The Lehman Trilogy and Slave Play will be a very hard sell.

Ni chance West Side Story going out, but would think that Beetlejuice will

So looks like poor subscribers will either get Rent or Chicago again.

People know that they have to wait. This thread is merely speculation about what MAY be going out on tour - nothing wrong with that. In the many years I have been on this board, every touring season there is a thread discussing what MAY be going out.

It’s not illegal to speculate what shows will be going out on tour.

To stay on topic. I can for sure see some equity tours right now, going out as non-equity next season. The Prom and Pretty Woman to name a few.

I can definitely see Tina starting a tour, but other than that I’m stumped.

Maybe Jagged Little Pill? Maybe Caroline or Change?

it’s probably too early to talk about a Company tour, right?

My current season is already mostly shows I’ve seen but hey I’m just glad I have shows to go to.

I never said it was illegal to speculate. A tad overdramatic, no?

According to booking group sites and other resources, here are a few of the new (direct from Broadway and returning from hiatus) shows we could see starting in 22/23:

  1. Tina
  2. Jagged
  3. Phantom
  4. Les Mis
  5. Chicago
  6. Memphis
  7. Beetlejuice
  8. Aladdin
  9. Book of Mormon
  10. A Soldier's Play
  11. A Chorus Line
  12. 9 to 5
  13. Annie
  14. Legally Blonde
  15. 1776

Maybes:

  1. Groundhog Day
  2. The Bodyguard
  3. The Who's Tommy

23/24:

  1. Company
  2. Girl from the North Country
  3. Diana
  4. Paradise Square
  5. The Cher Show

Too-early-to-tell, but likely in 23/24:

  1. Music Man
  2. Funny Girl
  3. Little Prince
  4. Mrs. Doubtfire

Rent is scheduled to close this season and I read that this is Jersey Boys' last one as well, but things look to remain fluid with that one.

As long as we’re speculating then…

Because of the set, special effects and everything else required for the show, it’d be HIGHLY unlikely Harry Potter would ever tour, right?

wait, I’m curious as to why you think the following would tour

  1. A Chorus Line
  2. 9 to 5
  3. Annie
  4. Legally Blonde

?? What has led you to think that these shows would be touring?

Just conclusions drawn from web searches. For example, Legally Blonde's production company has it listed as going from 2022-2023: http://bigleague.org//?post_type=portfolio&p=275

Same for Chorus Line. It looks like Bond has picked up Annie and 9 to 5, and are currently accepting offers for full and split weeks and single shows from venues. Just an assumption they'll go in 22/23, but that's what I've concluded from my observations.

Sounds like the non-union market will be thriving in 2023.

I think the San Francisco production will be the closest we get to a Harry Potter tour. I can see it doing other long runs in major cities, but this isn’t gonna does  2 week engagements in Fort Lauderdale.

Wasn't To Kill A Mockingbird with Richard Thomas suppose to tour?  Or has that officially been called off?

Mockingbird is still set to start in 2022 and some venues are already offering individual tickets. Haven't heard of any changes, so it's probably still on. I also haven't seen anything saying Richard Thomas won't be in the lead, but it's possible someone else may step in since it'll have been a long time from the initial announcement.

I would love to see A Chorus Line, Memphis and Les Mis but what are the chances these will be equity productions?

Unlikely but I’d looooove to see Once On This Island tour again. Wouldn’t mind see it one more time!

Oh yes! I missed the tour due to bad weather and have regretted it ever since.

Six hasn’t announced a tour yet, I know they’re doing the sit down in Chicago. But no conventional tour yet, think this one is when not if, I wonder if they announce this year as part of the subscription package?

Im so sorry you missed it! I hope you were able to see it in NYC though! I basically lived at Circle In The Square during its Broadway run. Really do love that show. I got to see it in Hershey too. The show was adapted very well for the tour.

Memphis?! That's random. I'd bet a lot of these are Prather Productions - Non-Union - like the current Summer tour. They seem to be expanding their market with tours.

I doubt we'll see a OOTI revival tour in 22/23, but it's entirely possible.

Memphis is a Big League Production: http://bigleague.org/?portfolio=memphis-2022-2023

I agree that a lot of these returning older shows, like Memphis and A Chorus Line, will most likely be non-equity.

With the link you supplied and thank you for that and you mentioned are non-equity.

So wondering what will be the 5/6 shows that will make up predominately the subscriber packages?

Any mix of these few, probably:

Still in first year: Hadestown, Oklahoma, Aint Too Proud, Moulin Rouge, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Prom, Hairspray, Tootsie, Pretty Woman

Likely tours: Tina, Jagged Little Pill, scaled-down Aladdin, Beetlejuice, Girl From The North Country, Six

Older shows that haven't hit all big cities: Frozen, Mean Girls

Return engagements: Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, Waitress, Come From Away, Wicked, Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar, Beautiful

Likely to close: The Band's Visit, My Fair Lady, Jersey Boys
