MOTHER PLAY opens with previews starting tonight. Would greatly appreciate it if anyone attending can share their thoughts on seating—specifically Orchestra Left vs Orchestra Right.
Thank you in advance.

In my experience, for most plays, once you hit the double digits in terms of seat number, it’s partial view (though less so if you are further back).
Also, there is no side aisle, so the further in you are, the closer you are to a wall

I have bought the cheaper seat against the wall down front and have been very happy. But I cannot speak to the set design or staging for this particular play. But I have reserved another cheaper seat for a preview performance.

Thanks for the responses. For Appropriate, I sat against the wall in Row G in Orchestra Right (OR). Missed a bit of the action (hence the partial view), but seemed like the actors were facing OR more. Guess we’ll find out more after tonight.

Caught a few video clips of the actors taking their bows. Hard to tell, but looks like the stage design is centered…nothing much to the far left or right.

Here’s a decent picture of the Mother Play staging (without props and furniture) and the first rows of the orchestra.

Sat in 4th row center- great seats- but they were premium and 250 each- but if you have the money- cant think of a better way to spend it.

I watched from orchestra row H in the farthest seat on the right side (sold as partial view but IMO a better cheap option than the last rows of the mezzanine). The same single on the left side would have been better in terms of seeing more of the entrances and exits, but I didn’t miss much and nothing important. FYI, the farthest seat in row G is much more obstructed (there are the same number of seats in rows G and H, so that the far seat in H isn’t directly against the wall). The play wrecked me, as it should any queer with a mother. All three actors have never been better. Buy now, I can’t imagine this not becoming a hard-to-get ticket.

I saw from Right Orchestra close to stage AND actually did feel like I missed a few things that were obscured by the set

We were G 4-6 in the right side orchestra. Ok sightlines and didn't miss much to the stage's side. However, I can't remember ever sitting so uncomfortably in a Broadway house. Super narrow seats, angled toward the left, neighbors with elbows right in our sides. Awful. Knew there wasn't an intermission, so I found myself praying for the show to end (despite liking it overall.) So, mostly liked the show, but worst "seating" experience in recent memory. Avoid Hayes' side orchestra like the plague. The narrowness combined with the angle was a killer. (Made worse by guy in G 2 leaning and jabbing his elbow into me instead of the open aisle. Also didn't turn his watch to "theater mode" until halfway through, so he received alerts for the first 40-50 min of the show -- and read each one. Ugh.)

I sat front row right mezzanine. Man, those seats are tight and uncomfortable, but a great view.

D6 orchestra obstructed view was good. Very little was obstructed. Boy those seats are tiny. A guy was behind me with his dog. That must have been uncomfortable.

has anyone tried to get student rush tix for Mother? 2st sells student rush 2 hours before curtain. A student friend of mine did well with Appropriate and managed to get student rush one evening. Hoping we can get into Mother the same way.
Thank you thank you

I was in Row E Seat 8 (against the wall) which was designated partial view. It was definitely somewhat obstructed, but I think it was still ok. What was much worse than the view was the seat. Incredibly tight and very uncomfortable. It was an ordeal to sit there for an hour and forty five minutes. I'd be careful buying anything too close to the wall.

I sat Mezz Row E103. Great sight line and no head obstructions, the mezz is raked.
