"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell

Emcee, did you try lotto there today instead of Rent?
I want to write music. I want to sit down right now at my piano and write a song that people will listen to and remember and do the same thing every morning...for the rest of my life. - Jonathan Larson. Tick, Tick...BOOM!
i was just going to post the john thread, but im glad it has already started! about seven minutes till curtain...broadway is losing a great performer tonight, but hopefully he will be back very soon. when i found out john was leaving, i knew i had to get tickets, and i did on the 20th. i am so glad i did decide to go because that is a performance not to be missed. i will be seeing avenue q again in march, but it will not be the same. can you guys let me know how barrett is? im sure he's really good...anyway, thanks john for being so amazing and for being probably the nicest performer i have met...ahh i love him!
I can't believe it... and wish I'd seen the show earlier so I could have seen it more than once with him in it... but I did get to see him in it, so yay for that. And I wish I could have gone tonight...
I am also listing to the q cd. Ahh how i love that show and John and the rest of the cast!

I got the chance to see the show in October and Johnny was AMAZING (as was the rest of the cast, of course). I got to meet him afterwards and he was just the sweetest person. He even apologized for taking so long to come outside. And did anyone else see the ginormous water bottle he has?
Oh wow... I'm going to miss him so much - even if I have only seen the show once!

"If you start from a place of joy and charm, you can get away with a lot in the second act. It may be that that's my life. I'm not sure."
~Roger Bart
*cries* for some reason i kept thinking that his last show was on the 31st - tomorrow, and now i'm so upset b/c i wasn't prepared for this. well, i wish him all the best afterwards. i can't wait for reviews and pictures.

*cries*I wish him all the best, and he WILL move on to greater things, although he was amazing in Avenue Q. He's such a sweet guy and I wish him the best with whatever he does, and I know he wont be out of the spotlight for long. <3John Tartaglia<3 I hope there are pictures from his last performance :)
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps...
What did she realize, Kitten?
That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs.
What's wrong with that?
Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had...
Where?
On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.
*Sigh* I wish i was there right now. John's performance was incredable and he was such a nice person at the stage door.
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
