There's some really talented people in that show. I hope they all find a better musical to showcase their talents soon.
I second that, especially for Sebastian!
Titus has some voice. I agree that there are many talented people in this show. I second the second to hoping that they find a better show.

Wow... that sucks... I still wish they had released a CD for it so we all could have heard some of the music... I was gonna see it in August-- either that or Hairspray... Guess I will go see Hairspray now... But its a shame!

Buy Pet Sounds if you want to hear the music. That is one album everyone should own.

Guess it was really worth shoving CAROLINE, OR CHANGE out of the O'Neill prematurely for GV, huh? Interesting that CAROLINE had a longer run than GV will have by the time it closes and CAROLINE's worst weeks at the box office were better than GV's best weeks. Oh the irony......
Poor kids.
i'm glad its closing, that show was never meant for broadway

I didn't see the show, so I can't really say that I'm happy or sad that it's closing, but a whole cast of people is being put out of a job now. So as much as many people don't like the show, it's still not a happy thing.
Um, maybe this is a dangerous question to ask of people on this board, but did anyone like the Beach Boys the first time around? The original music was a bit before my time, but really...falsetto men shrieking about surfing and cruising for chicks? I trust the singers in the Broadway show at least had better voices going for them, but the source material is what it is.
I get better vibrations from keeping my pager in my pocket.
Honestly, the music alone is pretty brainless, harmless fun. I never minded it before GV, and I still don't at all. It was pretty far before my time, too, but it's not terrible.
Too bad.
Chad Kimball was really smart to jump ship before it was too late.

Dummy, the Beach Boys didn't always have the greatest lyrical sophistication, but I have to give them credit for writing some beautiful harmonies. I think they would have grown into something quite special if they hadn't, well...fallen apart.
Anyway...*points to Margo's post* Read that again, people, and weep. God, I'm mad I never got to see Caroline a second time.
*weeps*

I feel bad for the cast and for the Beach Boys. I mean this is how their music is going to be preserved, what a shame. I never really cared for their music anyways...
The only thing i liked about the show was the poster.

This isn't how the Beach Boys' music will be preserved. In a few years, Good Vibrations will be trivia question answer and nothing more.
im sure if the cast are good they will go on to new and better things
The theatre will now be free for the revival of The Pajama Game
