WOW! That is really exciting. Is this the first time a well known composer has been in his/her own musical?

Well he's a performer.
He'll probably get Lauren Kennedy!

yes, lk was my first thought too. especially considering her touring with him this past summer and their history, especially with this show...
but alas, she is going to be going into spam...
Oh. What's bad for the soul is good for the career I guess! She's a good singer, it'll be a good gig for her.

awesome. i'm moving to the greater l.a. area early next month...i should pick up tickets for this! maybe julia murney could play cathy. she and jrb have a long working history together, and she is similar to sherie rene scott in many ways. i know many will probably disagree, but i could definitely see stephanie d'abruzzo (sp?) as cathy, too. so excited!

stephanie does not have the vocal chops for cathy.

i would have to disagree with you there. she has a pretty solid belt, if not quite as fierce as sherie.

just bought a ticket: row e of the orchestra. i've never been to this theater. is that a good seat?
jim
Row E is the ninth row rather than the fifth (because the Freud starts with AA-DD). Tricky of them, isn't it? Anyway, my regular Reprise season ticket is in row E and it's an excellent seat. The house only seats about 550 or so, and even when I sat in the very back row for the Sam Harris concert, I had a good view. Let's all us Broadwayworld.com people get together and say hi before/after the show. (They should be having a reception afterwards which anyone can go to, I believe, at least that's been my experience.)

thanks so much. i officially cannot wait. should be a memorable evening.
I have never in my life wished to live in California until THIS moment.
*unintelligable excited/agonizing sounds*
Jason Robert Brown has played Jamie (w/Lauren Kennedy as Cathy) at least once before so it isn't a one time engagement.
Spamalot is dark on Monday so it's at least possible that Lauren could do it.
ETA: I just ordered the entire series for Reprise! I'll be in Row E as well!

JRB plays Jamie all the time. He loves to perform.
Comden and Green performed in On The Town.
Methinks I should get a ticket as well!

JRB played the part at a Cooper Union staging a few years ago in a concert version. He was very funny. I'm sure he'll be great.
maybe they are sold out but i went to the website to get tickets and cant figure it out...ANY IDEAS?
I'll be there! And I'm very excited to see this and to see who will be playing Cathy opposite JRB.

Steve, have you heard any murmers as to who will be playing Cathy in this production yet?
It's less than a month away, I figure they would have made an announcement by now.
I may try to buy some tickets tomorrow. . .
