Wow that was fast. I had no idea that they had held auditions and were ready to announce a cast. I'm excited for this one. Do you think they'll incorporate both movies into one show?

I don't think so Pinball Wizard. i think its going to be like most shows and just sorta use the premise/idea behind Legally Blonde.

Its weird they have a set date but no theater. seems so distinct. is there no out of town tryout?

YAY! This looks hilarious!
And hooray for San Francisco getting it first!
I'm sure SF will think it'll be fun.

Just hope it doesn't follow the path of the other "L" title SF-musicals. "Lennon" and "Lestat" both had rough starts in San Francisco. Maybe 3rd times the charm!

I mean, San Francisco freakin' LOVES to laugh and I'm sure this'll be a bundle of them! AWESOME

Well, when the project was first conceived - they begged, pleaded and practically guaranteed to rename the theatre in her honor trying to get Chenoweth to come on board.

More recently, Laura Bell Bundy did the workshops. If it doesn't end up being her - surely they'll get some other washed up Glinda.

Well, ANY of the Glinda's could do it, its the same "type". I think Kristen Chenoweth is a little bit ancient for the role, and I think they're very much over her...

But yes, I expect some Glinda to take the role. LBB, Kendra... who knows. I dont think any of us will be suprised whoever takes the role.

Oh thats a tad harsh to say Elle is like Glinda, true they both are shallow slightly and obessed with pink, but there two different characters.

Elle is a "real world" woman who shows the world there's more to being blonde than to quote the movie "big boobs and being a Victoria Secret model." Glinda is a shallow girl who grows into a role of great power and loses pretty much everything. Elle gains, Glinda loses.

Actually.. casting this isn't as easy as you might think. I'm not saying the script is Tolstoy - but Reese Witherspoon, when playing Elle walked a very fine and difficult line to pull of her innocence. humor, intelligence, etc - and made it BELIEVABLE and fun. It's a role that, in the wrong hands, could make all the difference...
