Did Electricity do well in the UK charts? I certainly never heard it in a club, but maybe I'm just sheltered. I sincerely hope it didn't do well, I think it's a horrible song.
Songs released as singles from muscials fare much better in the UK where they seem to always crack the Top 10 when a musical opens. I think Bombay Dreams had many British Pop hits.

That strangely appealing techno dance version of "Easy As Life" by Deborah Cox did pretty well on the dance charts a couple of years ago. I highly doubt it ever made it anywhere near the top 40 though.
I don't know if it hit Top 40, but Boyzone had "No Matter What" from Whistle Down The Wind
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
I think the Stefani song "Rich Girl" did very well on the charts. I also remember that the "video" for "All That Jazz" from "Chicago" did very well on VH-1 when the film was released.
