So this monday Disney will be holding auditions for the Musical once again to recast for their show at the Hyperion. Anyone have any suggestions as to what 16-bars I should select for this? I don't think i should do anything from the show.. but i'm just not exactly sure what to get. What do you think?

We need to know more about you! Age, male/female, vocal range, etc.
I would say 16 bars from "The internet is for porn" or "totally ****ed" or if you want something a little more character-esq "the legend of ms. baltimore crabs."
When are they going to bring this to Broadway?

oh good lord.
Its not a broadway bound staging. It's a 45 minute theme park attraction. They say 'color blind casting', but from what i have seen, the pretty have a set ethnicity for each character to give the cast as much of a 'rainbow of the world' effect as possible.
True it is only a 45 min theme park attarction it keeps me wondering. I am wondering if this theme park show will go the same way as beauty and the beast. Beauty and the beast was based upon a 30 min theme park version of the show that playes at MGM. They then reaized that it was staged in the style of a broadway musical and thus they realized that they can and then did turn it into a broadway show. I know that this is a show that some people would be interested in seeing. I was just wondering if they might turn this 45 min show to a broadway show just like they did with beauty and the beast.
This does share the same director as the upcoming Little Mermaid though.

How can some people use a computer and NOt read a 10 post thread before posting like a half wit? But then again... *looks at certain vatars*
It's a call for the THEME PARK.
Dear GOD.
The theme park version of B&TB had something to do with the isnperation of the broadway musical. They realized that when it started out it was the most popular attraction at the park and decided to make it into a broadway show becuase they realized that they way it was done felt like a broadway show. That is the only connection to the theme park version and to the broadway version.

actually, I think Beauty's contention at the Academy Awards had more to do with it than a theme park. They do theme park shows for all of their films. Doesn't mean they are coming to Broadway.. at all.
The original Aladdin concept more closely based on the book would make an interesting stage musical.
Let's face it, that Disney movie is not about the musical experience, it's about the cute little characters.
The true Ashman/Menken score is far more Broadway-esque.
Neverandy, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but those dancing bats have been gone from the Beauty and the Beast theme park show for years
Thanks broadwaystar2b. Believe me you are "Breaking nothing to me I saw this in '99 and haven't been back since. I have been to MGM, but I haven't seen this "Show" by choice The bats were there then and they were terrible! Bad even by theme park standards!
The idea for the show came about from a particularly popular 25 minute-long Broadway-style performance of the film at Disneyland which opened in 1992 and a similar show at the Disney-MGM Studios theme park which opened concurrent to the film. Also, I belive that this particular attraction was the first show to open at MGM.
