Not sure if this is old or new news, but Paul McGill (ACL) will be playing Baby John in West Side Story!
Congrats :)
Source? Guess you didn't see it "announced" that Lea Michele, Aaron Tveit, Angela Lansbury, and Queen Elizabeth are also going to star.

Queen Elizabeth?
Wow that really IS a coup! (is that spelled right? It looks funny to me)

Im friends with him on facebook and its all over his wall.
Coup is to overthrow, usually the government.
"Coup is to overthrow, usually the government."
Actually I just looked it up and one definition is "a triumph" so it does work.
A coup is also "a highly successful, unexpected stroke, act, or move; a clever action or accomplishment."
But if Queen Elizabeth is going leave England to appear in West Side Story, the other kind of coup may also be possible.
There is more than one definition. Geez!
Main Entry: 2coup
Pronunciation: ˈkü
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural coups ˈküz
Etymology: French, blow, stroke — more at cope
Date: 1791
1 : a brilliant, sudden, and usually highly successful stroke or act
2 : coup d'état
I only included that definition because I wasn't sure if that was the word you meant. I wondered if your spelling was way off and you meant "scoop", so I just gave a ballpark example.
I can't believe you actually used Legally Blonde to explain coup d'etat.
Gotcha. No I meant coup.
I'm not THAT bad at spelling! LOL

Isn't it cool that you can, though? It's like the Wicked fans running around using hoi polloi in casual conversation. They learned a new word! It's so cute.
Personally, I think that lyric from "The Harvard Variations" is hilarious.
CATSNY, I have a friend who uses the term hoi polloi all the time. And the funniest was that a guy I used to date was in a band called Hoi Polloi. I was like No Way!
Perhaps if Queen Elizabeth actually *did* anything they'd be able to stage a coup with her away making her Broadway debut. :P
... do you guys want Gordon Brown? I see him as a jowly-faced ineffectual Officer Krupke. And there must be a character in WSS who's a bald-faced liar with smarm to spare; David Cameron! Baby John can be played by Boris Johnson (sorry Paul), and we'll keep Nick Clegg and Red Ken. The country may well then go to the dogs, but I like dogs and they can't do a worse job than Gordon and Boris, amirite? ^_^
I wonder if Charles or William would be king? Can Charles be king since he was divorced? Or does it automatically go to William?

I believe that "coup d'etat" or at least "coup" is used in Evita as well.
LOL! We have certainly hijacked this thread!
Well, it was a king who legalised divorce in the first place (Mr Henry VIII, surprisingly *not* one of my favourites despite being a Henry) when he kicked out the Catholics, so seeing as the Royal Family is still all Church of England, I guess there's no problem with Prince Divorced becoming king.
Although I did hear he was thinking of abstaining anyway and leaving William to it. But I reckon Royal Family gossip has to be EVEN MORE unreliable than Broadway gossip. At least some of the leaks you guys come up with are semi-plausible; I can't think of ANYONE I'm aware of who might have a Royal connection. XD
This is true, Weez. I had forgotten about Henry VIII and Katherine being divorced. I don't know why because I recently read the Other Boleyn Girl and the Constant Princess.

I actually believed they were annulled. Not divorced! And I hear that Patti is leaving Gypsy to play Maria in the revival!!!

Back on topic...Paul McGill will be in West Side Story, though he doesn't know (or at least at 7:00pm this evening he didn't)what role he will be playing. Joey Dudding, also in A Chorus LIne, is also cast. They were informed today.
