Wow, what a cool idea. I can't wait to hear everyone. One question though, I got the impression that he was expecting a video performance. Anyone else think that?
"I recorded 'She Cries,' but someone on Broadwayworld said you hated that song (which I hope is not true because it's great!) So I decided to record 'King of the World,' too, in case it was true ."
[FROM JRB: Why would I hate that song? I do it at every concert! People say the most f*cked-up dumb bullsh*t.]
So I'll be posting mine tomorrow out in the middle of nowhere while I make my road trip to Wyoming! I think that will be pretty epic, mountains in the background and such. Should be fun.
I also entered the contest. Learned the song this weekend. I was really nervous posting it, but I tried to kill my vampires and take a risk! Sorry for the bad sound quality, but I don't have any fancy recording equipment. If you'd like to hear my rendition of SHE CRIES, here's the link.
Due to bad planning (I live in rural Arizona and forgot about the time change), I missed the deadline for JRB Karaoke Freak 2008 by approximately 12 minutes. So, even though I am no longer in the running to be the next Elle Woods on Broadway or something, I thought I would still post my version of "She Cries" since I had already recorded it.
This is my humble attempt at singing a great song that is rather out of my range.
That said, it was a lot of fun to sing and I hope someone, somewhere, might glean a small amount of pleasure from it.
Thank you so much for listening to my desperate plea!

"I have had lots of failures, but I have never felt like giving up theater. There is a kind of inner conceit that most people have who work in theater. They always feel tomorrow is going to be alright and very often, it is."
