Hey guys,

Hope you're all doing well. Just wanted to let you know that I'm really excited for this weekend's Bway Loves the 80s concert. Hope many of you were able to snag tickets. I wish everything I did sold out as quickly as this one.

For those of you that are coming, let me just tell you that you're in for quite a treat and some really amazing unexpected surprises.

If there is anyone out here who has suddenly realized they cannot make it for some reason, please let me know and I'm happy to buy your ticket back from you. I can't believe I'm saying that, but we have quite a waiting list and I'd hate to see people not be able to come when someone didn't show up.

Anyway...back to the running order and medleys for me!

Hope to see you on Sunday!!!

Love, Jamie

Thanks for a great show tonight Jamie!! I am way too exhausted to do a proper recap or anything, but great performances from all!

A list of random things that I loved:
- Michael Urie and Becki Newton!! Michael singing the "Who's the Boss" theme song to Judith Light! Judith, America Ferrera and Vanessa Williams in the audience- America winning Garbage Pail Kids cards, topped by Vanessa winning gay porn, in the raffles.
- Mandy Gonzalez bringing the hilarity to "Total Eclipse of the Heart"
- "We Are The World"
- Anthony Rapp as George Michael
- the Teddy Ruxpin tape. And that you got $1,000 for the Teddy Ruxpin!
- ignoring the lyrics sheets under people's shoes :)
- ...and Nick Adams. *le sigh*

Slightly bummed there was no appearance by The Shindle, but know that such as it is for benefits, and there was definitely more than enough 80s to go around tonight!!

Hey there!

Thanks for coming to the concert last night...I haven't had that much fun in a long time! I'm glad you enjoyed it too!

As for Shindle...we all were bummed since she turned it out in the first one singing Alone. She's pretty amazing, but she went and caught this gross cold that's going around and has missed a couple Legally Blonde performances this weekend, so we all agreed that it's better for her to get well for the big ticket audiences at the Palace!

Hope everyone who got a chance to come last night had a great time. Thanks again for supporting these events, it means a lot!

I hope there's some photos of Eden in her get up w/ make up! It was so fun having the Ugly Betty cast there. As I said onstage, I don't think there's been better TV than that in quite some time. Hope to see more of them in other benefits around NYC!

See you at the next one!!!

Love, Jamie

That was amazing Jamie, thank you!

Eden's Rainbow Brite star on her face sort of made my night. Well, the entire thing made my night it was so much fun, as always.

Also THANK YOU for Mandy singing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" - that was both brilliant and one of the funnier things I've ever seen.

Now what would you say if today I started over? Without a thing but this taped together four leaf clover And I'll pretend like everything is already alright And I'll run toward the sun till the castle's out of sight

Last night was my first time at Broadway Loves the 80's but won't be my last. I had so much fun! Everyone was fantastic and having the Betty cast there was an added bonus. I knew once MU and BN started singing TV theme songs that Who's the Boss was coming. Classic moment!

I had a great time. I didn't think I'd ever see Vanessa Williams win gay porn. But it was worth it. Was that one of the "amazing unexpected surprises" you hinted about, Jamie?

Anyway, the evening was great. So many people knocked it out of the park; I don't have a list here, so I can't remember all of the names, but Kenita Miller, Eden Espinoza, Mandy Gonzales, and Alysha Umphress and Casey Clark were favorites of mine. Casey Clark has a voice on her! I love it when backup singers are allowed to shine- and really blow everyone away. :o)

The '80s TV theme song medley was quite a treat; Becky Newton and Michael Urie are great performers, they had the crowd in their hands. Exactly like they are on Ugly Betty (welcome to NYC!)...but musical. I'm sure videos will pop up in the next few days; I look forward to it!

ETA: I've also never heard the name "Judith Light" uttered so many times in the course of two hours. But it worked.

Hey there,

Here's the running order for anyone who's interested...

Nikki Renee Daniels - Aint Nobody

Natalie Weiss - One Moment In Time

Nick Adams - I Just Died In Your Arms

Casey Clark - Hold On To The Nights

Kenita Miller - So Emotional

Chris Dilley - Sister Christian

Adinah Alexander - I Wanna Know What Love Is

Michael Urie & Becki Newton - TV Medley

Anthony Rapp - Faith

Eden Espinosa - Call Me

Alysha Umphress - All I Wanna Do

Mo Rocca - Take The Long Way Home

Marty Thomas - Danger Zone

Kyle Dean Massey - Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone

Mandy Gonzalez - Total Eclipse

All - We Are The World

And America winning Garbage Pail Kids and Vanessa winning gay porn was honestly not planned...they just bought a lot of raffle tickets...The main surprise I was excited about was having Judith Light there...we're already planning the 4th edition!

It was pure heaven. Hell, the show could have sucked but with Vanessa Williams in my line of vision, I would have paid more. re: Broadway Loves the 80s Vol 3!!! The show was fantastic. Becki and Michael were just great! Mo kept me cackling all night. Marty Thomas was hysterical. Eden was great and those 80s bangs just brought back too many memories! Mandy Gonzalez stole the damn show. Wait... no... Vanessa winning the gay porn stole the show.

Thank you for a fun, wonderful night!

And America winning Garbage Pail Kids and Vanessa winning gay porn was honestly not planned...they just bought a lot of raffle tickets...

And I noticed that America was wearing a glowstick, so they'd bought those too- nice classy fundraising bunch, that Ugly Betty crew.

And just because this is *still* making me laugh:
"...turnaround bright eyes"
"ok!" (Mandy turns around)

And did anyone else notice America wearing the glowstick like a headband? Very Betty of her. lol I watched the first season of Ugly Betty this week, so it was very odd to see Betty and Claire sitting with Wilhelmina between them, having a ball. Oh, the joy of watching too many TV shows.

And Mandy's little reactions to the tempo changes were KILLING me.

Just wanted add how much fun I had last night too! Kenita Miller, Marty Thomas and Mandy Gonzales were the highlights for me. And my favorite outfit of the night was Adinah Alexander - she looked and sounded like an 80's pop star. Hopefully, we see some pictures very soon. Also, Mo' Rocca was, once again, a great host!

Anyone else notice Judith Light rocking out and singing along with almost every song?!

And I really wanted that Teddy Ruxpin, but $800 was as high as I could go.

Thanks again Jamie for an awesome evening.

You were very near us, bwayrocks! I noticed Judith and Vanessa both singing. Vanessa should have just jumped up there and started singing Right Stuff! Oy. 80s perfection.

And I just want to applaud the brilliance of the performers who chose to do We Are The World in the voices of the original performers. That was so wonderful.

Yes, yes I did, bwayrocks. I must have also been sitting very near to you, JerseyGirl. But I think that table was in everyone's line of sight last night, to be honest. lol.

When they all crowded around the mics and Mandy Gonzales put her hand to her ear...I knew what was coming. That was a very good choice.

How has no one sung Madonna yet?

I was standing near the bar before the show as I forgot to reserve a table but got very lucky when I was able to join the table at the right end of the bar. (John and Lisa - if you read this - thanks again). Great view of the performers and the crowd. It's almost just as fun to watch the audience's reactions.

We are the world = perfect ending!
