Does anyone know if Renee Elisa Goldsberry will be out of any performances before the show's close? She is not my favorite, and I was hoping to be able to see Karmine in as Mimi one last time...
Karmine is an AMAZING Mimi, one of the best, if not THE best!!!!
"He found something that he wanted, had always wanted and always would want— not to be admired, as he had feared; not to be loved, as he had made himself believe; but to be necessary to people, to be indispensable."
-F. Scott Fitzgerald's This Side of Paradise
Karmine is definitely the best Mimi I have ever seen.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
i know. i love her she is my fave mimi, and i've seen 11 different mimi's in the past 10 years. GOD i wish i could see her one more time before the show closes. please let me know if anyone hears that she is going on again!!!
i dont know of any scheduled absences, but i think its safe to say that if Renee were to call out, Karmine would go on- technically I think Trisha Jeffrey also covers the role, but theres no doubt Karmine is the primary cover and would go on...
dont know any planned absences on renee's part tho- shes been pretty consistent since she got there.
hopefully Renee somehow freakishly lets Karmine finish the run because, sadly, Renee's rendition of Mimi may be the worst broadway performance I've EVER seen.
The unofficial first covers for the female roles seem to be: Mimi: Karmine Alers Joanne: Trisha Jeffrey Maureen: Tracy McDowell Mrs. Jefferson/SOL soloist: Crystal Monee Hall
Alexi and Mark's Mom seem to be kinda up in the air.
I honestly do not understand why Crystal is not first Joanne, she used to be and she was fantastic every time I saw her. Trisha's soloist was great too. Very much like Karmine. You can't believe such a big voice is coming out of such a tiny person.
