How did we get here?
How the hell?
Bernie Sanders tonight, said that after next week he will be campaigning for Clinton "full time" to make sure she gets the millennial vote and is elected. That made me very happy to hear.
I firmly believe that if elected, Trump will do something within weeks which will justify his impeachment. The protests and upheaval of his election will create a truly frightening social situation. His response will bring him down. Anyway, that is how I see it.
Both these candidates energize the other side. If you are a Republican, it is virtually insane to want a Trump victory because he will be a disaster and bring down the GOP for years to come. Obama's unpopularity is what has energized the GOP. Hillary would do the same. I honestly believe it is in the best interest of both sides for Hillary to win.

They should send Bernie to Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Maine. That's where he resonates most, and he can help with the Senate races in the first two.
Sanders: Think Hard About A Protest Vote This Year

I'm sorry but he's doing a lousy job. I didn't come away from that feeling any enthusiasm from him.
He's saying what he needs to say to convince the people he'strying to convince. I don't think you're in his target audience.
Also..he's doing something that I wish Clinton and more of her surrogates would do,, focusing on the issues. Hillary needs another "I'm sick of talking about your emails" moment.
You know I admire PJ's passion and his encyclopedic knowledge of American (and theatrical) history, but let's get real here.
If, tomorrow, Bernie appeared on Meet the Press sporting a "Ready for Hillary" face tattoo, declared that he was retroactively naming all his children and grandchildren Hillary, announced new legislation to put Hillary's face on all US currency and to make her birthday a national holiday and then dropped his trousers and sodomized himself with a 10" Hillary-shaped dildo live on air, PJ would say, "Yeah, that's fine, but if he really supported Hillary, he would've used a 12" dildo."
I can't remember if I've said this before in this thread or not, but MSNBC really needs to give Joy Reed more of a platform. She's better at anyone than stopping Trump supporters and calling out their BS. She does not allow them to go o n her show and spew lies. She shuts them down immediately. Hers is the kind of reporting and interviewing this campaign needs more of. There's a reason Kellyanne Conway won't go on her show, when she's pretty much made herself available to every other talk show on the air, including Rachel Maddow and Bill Maher.
On the topic of Maher, I thought he did a horrible job with her the other night. He let her go on for far too long before (lamely) calling her out. She ran right over him.
Well, Trump's mentor, Breitbart's Bannon, has again illustrated just how much their racist and repugnant beliefs continue to send subliminal messages of hatred. In an article about President Obama and birtherism, they have used a photo of Harambe. This has been used online by trolls and haters against, Leslie Jones, President and Michelle Obama, and others.

Pathetic and just plain racial insults and intolerance that silently sends the message....
And now, the incident in Chelsea, I bet by Monday Trump will call it out as an act of terrorism and include it in his propaganda laced speeches.
Anyone catch the season premiere of South Park this week? Amazing social commentary. Giant douche and turd sandwich sum up this election perfectly.
Horse, I usually remain silent when I see some of these posts. I believe that all people have beliefs whether I agree with them or not. I have friends that support Trump, I say what I believe and that's that. We respect each other and move on. But your post is repugnant, insulting and actually pornographic.
Just how long did it take for you to think of those gross ideas? You must have a lot of time to be so negative.
That's all I really have to say. You've said what you thought and I said what I thought.
Steve what on earth are you talking about? My post was - clearly, I thought - about PJ's response to Sanders' Morning Joe appearance in which Sanders strongly urged his supporters (and younger voters in general) to support Hillary. This, somehow, wasn't enough for PJ. Something I found amusing if unsurprising at this point. So, yes, I was crassly lampooning how far Bernie might have to go to get even the faintest of praise from PJ.
I thought it was us millennials who were supposed to be the delicate snowflakes.
Also? You "believe that all people have beliefs"? Well... yes. I suppose all people have beliefs.
Giant douche and turd sandwich sum up this election perfectly.
You know that didn't originate with this episode right? It's from 2004.

Lol I know but it still sums it up perfectly and tied in perfectly with the member berries
Mellow out Steve, he's right about PJ, He's one of the good guys but his worship of Clinton is out of control.
HorseTears, you wrong me. Far be it from me to say anything negative about a ten-inch dildo.
LOL!!!!!
I bow down to you, PJ.
Dear HorseTears, Maybe I did jump the gun and didn't fully understand the situation. "Us millennials" get it wrong sometimes. I guess my snowflake turned into a piece of hail.I apologize and I'm sorry. I'll make sure I have all the facts before I freak out again. No hard feelings (especially since I know you love Grace Jones too).

Okay, what this thread needs is another dose of dogged confidence and optimism in the face of the pervasive Chicken Little stuff coming from the media and the pollsters, who have a stake in keeping the horse race going. This was from Thursday, just as the chorus of oh-noes was beginning:
SALON.COM: Poll panic is here! Yes, Trump is closing, but here’s why it’s meaningless: This week's polls may suggest Trump is inching closer to the White House, but the truth is he remains miles away
http://www.salon.com/2016/09/15/its-already-happening-yes-trump-is-closing-in-on-the-polls-but-heres-why-thats-meaningless/
Yes, the polls have tightened in some of the swing states and may still tighten more. Yes, this is affecting the down-ballot races to the point where it may impact the Democrats’ chances of retaking the Senate. Yes, that will hurt Clinton’s legislative agenda if she wins. Yes, if you assume everything lines up perfectly for Trump, he still has a slightly less narrow path to victory than he did last week.
But the presidential race was always going to be competitive, much as liberals might have laughed like stoned hyenas when it became clear the GOP was going to nominate Donald Trump. The electorate is so polarized and the parties so ideologically rigid that any Republican candidate always starts with a floor slightly north of 40 percent of the vote. Any Democrat was always likely to be just a few points higher than that. The onus was always going to be on the GOP candidate to run a perfect campaign to catch up, something Trump has proven incapable of doing.
It is possible the stakes for a loss feel higher this year. That is partly because we may have forgotten how high they felt in, say, 2008, when Sarah Palin had a shot at being a heartbeat away from the presidency. It is also partly because Trump is a genuinely dangerous person — a racist demagogue who knows less than nothing about governing, legislating, diplomacy, foreign policy, economics. The list goes on. He is a narcissist with no empathy for anyone not named Donald Trump, and he’s got skin so thin he’s liable to order an invasion of China if Panda Express forgets to include a fortune cookie with his takeout order.
We should all be genuinely horrified that this xenophobic Creamsicle has any shot at all at winning the White House. But he is still much more likely to lose than win, no matter what the polls and the media tell us over the next couple of weeks.
I like the Creamsicle part.

It is an act of terrorism, dumbass.
Trump spoke on Friday night, minutes after the explosion, and announced it as a bomb before that had been determined. It was reckless, and the fact that he was proved correct doesn't make it any less reckless. Among the countless reckless statements Trump has made in this campaign was his declaration that the disappearance of EgyptAir Flight 804 had definitely been an act of terror. His assertion was wrong in that incident, but the media did not hold him accountable for his words.

I could give two ****s about Trump. I wasn't speaking to that at all.
