Figured I mine as well start a thread. Telecast is tomorrow. I for one am very excited for Tina and Amy to host. Any last minute predictions?

My "surprise" prediction (if you can even call it that) is Bradley Cooper winning Best Actor Musical/Comedy over Hugh Jackman.

I want every pre-Oscar awards to be awkward city by having either Bigelow or Affleck win every best director award to really mess with any momentum or consensus-building for the actual academy awards. Affleck already had that moment at the Critics Choice Awards and even Paul Thomas Anderson will get his chance at the LA Critics Awards tonight.

I would love a Cooper upset! I was not a fan of his film, but would certainly like to see him win if only because I wanted to scratch my eyes out during "Les Mis."
I am anxious to see which film takes Picture (Drama) and Director. This year is so up in the air, I love the suspense. Lincoln has been a strong frontrunner all these months, but something tells me it may be ripe for an upset. I would prefer Argo or ZD30 to win anyway.

Just because it's a Musical/Comedy category, I think it's Coopers to lose. He has much more momentum than Jackman.
I still can't believe the two most deserving directors were not nominated for Best Director at the Oscars. I hope Bigelow or Affleck win!

Obviously this thread is about the Globes but Whoopi made the point the other day on The View. Why don't they expand the director category for the Oscars like they did for Best Picture?

Why not expand the Writing categories, too, then? And the Acting? And the Editing?

Difficult for me to take this year's Globes seriously, or even be all that interested, this year at all given that there were no nominations for Amour other than for best foreign film. Not for direction or screenplay. Not for its leads (although Cotillard was nominated for a foreign language performance, so it can't simply be explained by that).

No worries, I'm from the south originally. "Mine as well" is a term thats used without any thought.
I watch the red carpet too, I think you get a small glimpse of who these celebs really are.

Greetings. This is the first year in...4? that I've seen 3 of the movies (Argo, Les Miz, Silver Lining), and am actually interested in Awards Season.
So for the preshow, most people watch for the fashion, but I love watching the interviewers crash and burn. One of my all-time favorites is Ryan Seacrest asking Ryan Kwanten from TRUE BLOOD what it's like to play a vampire on TV. His response: "Umm...I...don't...play...a vampire...on TV..."

Wondering if Lincoln sweeps in drama or in more awkward situation ZD30 or Argo win all of its nominations or in a twist Life of Pi wins its nominations to confuse everybody.

I'll go unbold and say Silver Linings takes all 3 major awards for comedy/musical. (Well Les Miz can sneak in since this is the Foreign Press)
Let's add that Argo either gets best director or best film (or both), and whichever it doesn't get, Lincoln gets.
And in the 3 fairly obvious categories, particularly with the comedy/drama breakdown, Daniel Day Lewis, gets actor-drama, Jessica Chastain gets actress-drama (with Lawrence in the comedy category), and Anne Hathaway gets supporting.
Both major actors of Homeland continue to get awarded.
I'd love it if Mandy Patankin can sneak in for supporting, but TV actors always have difficulties beating the movie-made-for-TV actors, not to mention Eric Stonestreet.

Tina Fey & Amy Poehler are just hilarious women! That was an excellent opening. So far, the HFPA could not have chose better hosts.
