As for Silver Linings Playbook, the movie stank; the writing was abysmal; the actors were ok, but in no way worthy of getting nominated for any award, much less winning one.

Congrats to Anne! She deserved it. Her performance in the film was just BRILLIANT. I was expecting Louie C.K. to win a moment ago, but I am happy for Don Cheadle. He's a great actor.

After Eight if you didn't think that performances in Playbook were award nominated worthy then you clearly know very little about acting. And how's was AH speech an embarrassment? It was very classy

Ok, I know nothing about acting, except that you see the same level on any tv show.
As for AH, don't gush on about the Flying Nun becoming Norma Rae or anyone else. Just say thank you and go. And that goes for all of them.

I'm happy for Claire Danes. She's an excellent actress. My folks are also very pleased with her winning the award.

ZD30 has gotten nothing though the momentum is not surprisingly going Django Unchained's-- HFPA seems to like Tarantino films.
I won't be upset at ZD30 winning nothing. I'm all for having any of the snubs/underdogs at the Oscars win the major categories here.

I think it would be an even duller affair if the winners just said a quick "thanks" and left, but they could be a smidge more entertaining perhaps.
I really like Anne Hathaway, but I do think that there are more deserving winners in her category - alas, this seems to be her moment. Then when she really deserves her Oscar in a leading role she won't get it because she already has one. Just my extremely humble opinion, naturally.
