I haven't been able to stomach her in this series as a whole, for some reason. I dug her on Six Feet Under.
It was that milky, cataract eye from Season One. It's stuck with you.
I think I see that eye and feel terribly sorry for her and it takes me out of the story.
I hope htey don't kill off Josh Hamilton too soon. I could use him in another hot sex scene.

Okay. I have tried to get wrapped up in this season, and I just can't. I want to see more Lange, and less of the young witches.

I still find this season a fun, campy ride. I think. But it feels more and more like a throwback to season one where they just threw (in a typical Murphy-land way) everything at the screen and much of it added up to nothing -- whereas, by some miracle, I felt last year really did all tie together. AVClub's review of the last episode pretty much sums it up for me. http://www.avclub.com/articles/the-axeman-cometh,105469/
" American Horror Story, like all religious experiences, is best observed by simply letting go of the rational and embracing the tumble into what it means to stick “ir” onto that word. And I’ve been going with the show on that level this season, but something about this episode just added one element too many onto the pile, and some part of me revolted. I love the story of the Axeman, and I love the way that his actual letter to the people of New Orleans about how they need to play jazz to be spared his wrath sounds completely like it was penned specifically for this show (though whether sounding almost exactly like a madman serial killer from 1919 is a compliment to the writing staff is a question best left unexplored). But actually having him wandering around the house and then apparently fulfilling Fiona’s desire for one last great romance before she dies just felt like overkill, and not in the good way the show sometimes embraces it. Plus, there was a secret Ouija board in which he was imprisoned and Cordelia tapping around with a cane and somebody on the staff really wishing they had been responsible for Wait Until Dark, and then all of that intersected in a way that just felt more chaotic than genuinely conflict-filled."
And Lange, who is as ever a joy to watch and I can't begrudge wanting to play this role, is really now just being written a a jazz riff on her character last season.
"I still liked the episode, though. Zoe continues to be the dumbest person on Earth, and I still hope she doesn't turn out to be the supreme. I'm glad Madison is back. Angela Bassett still chews up and spits out every bit of scenery she comes in contact with, and I can't get enough of her. I liked the twist where we found out Delia's husband is in cahoots with Marie Laveau. "
The 1919 dialogue was atrocious. When they've done flashbacks before -- in each season -- the dialogue has felt self conscious (it does in present day stuff too) but that makes sense to me on this show, and it doesn't bring me out of the scene. The 1919 stuff was awful. It's starting to feel formulaic too, for a show that thrives on not repeating itself each year -- every season has a past serial killer episode (Killer Santa, the Nurse Killer) who comes back, and this was, to me the most ridiculous of them all.
I disagree on Zoe -- while I agree that I still find her actions naive, I have no idea why she suddenly is so confident in what she knows and in her powers. I guess because she killed a few zombies with a chainsaw? I know I should know better, but it seemed a large leap to make over half an episode. But I admit, I was surprised and liked the fact that Josh Hamilton's character turned out to be a witch hunter and not just yet another psycho.
Was anyone else thinking that FrankenBoyfriend was directed to act like Rocky after Frankenfurter created him? All that was missing were gold hotpants, not that I object to Evan Peters' ass. However, if they do a song sequence this year, I really hope they choose anyone but Taissa Farmiga to sing Touch a Touch a Touch Me.
I thought maybe that moment with the zombie was a lightbulb moment for Zoe. Maybe that's when she realized that she had an intuition about what she could do when she could do it.
Her naivete has never bothered me. She JUST found out that there are witches and she has some sort of power. She never even considered any of that before, while the others have been at it for a long time. Her ignorance and innocence made sense to me. This new discovery of her abilities doesn't seem to weird, either.
That said, I don't like Francis Conroy in this, so what do I know?
Yeah, I'm not a fan of Myrtle either.
I kinda love Myrtle, as indifferent as I am to this season. That's the kind of role I appreciate in AHS.
I completely missed Asylum when it aired, so I've been watching it and I'm a little over halfway through. So far, I don't get all the negativity that surrounded it (unless they somehow really blew it in the end and I haven't seen it yet). And anything with Franka Potente scores super über mega bonus points. I personally think she's one of the greatest actresses alive and I'm waiting for Hollywood to finally give her that Oscar film she deserves.
I actually enjoy Asylum more than I'm enjoying Coven. I'm just not sure why they need to kitchen sink each season with various horror genres so damn much.

I've made my peace with that aspect. And Asylum ends really well.
I just realized Frances Conroy is playing Barney's mom on HIMYM.
I've made my peace with that aspect. And Asylum ends really well.
That it does. I'm enjoying this season more with each episode, but "Asylum" was just so unique and spellbinding. I will be shocked if anything can improve upon it.
So is Zombie Boy made up of other people's body parts? They got them mixed up in the morgue?
Yes, honey.
Did you fall asleep again?
Every week I don't think this could get any more disturbing and messed up, and every week they prove me wrong.
Ryan Murphy had a storyline I found SOOO personally offensive on Nip/Tuck where one of their clients got over his incest abuse by having sex with an attractive woman, that the fact he's replaying the storyline on a show that's meant to be offensive, barely phases me. But...
I am loving every moment this year. I bet the upcoming episodes are about to get really sick .
I don't think I have ever laughed out loud at the end of any episode of a TV show like I did this week. Totally caught me off guard.
I've been waiting for this season to feel cohesive for me. This episode finally did it.
