Methinks the Lady Catalano has a very strict definition of 'horror'.
I'm not a gore fan...at all. I prefer the psychological stuff, so this season worked like gangbusters for me.
I just adore this show, flaws and all. I think this season really worked, and I'm sad to see it end!
Looking forward to season 3!
Paulson was terrific and Lange was perfect! I still like to call the hubby "Lana Banana" when he annoys me (and he hasnt watched the show). I'm so glad they showed that moment again last night!
I did agree with TV Guide with their jeer of McDermott's scenery chewing as Bloodyface, Jr.

It was the crack. Or meth. Or what have you.
I mean...it's not like Dylan McDermott is a particularly good actor. He's really quite...I was going to say 'awful,' but I'm not sure that's fair.
However, I would like for him to punch me in the back of the head while we're having sex, so there's that.
Yes, he never did it for me as an actor...except last seasopn's masturbating/crying scene...that was good acting.
I also kept saying to myself, 'There's no way McDermott is 48!'
Turns out I was right...he's fifty-F*CKing-one.
Mama needs a personal trainer.
I don't have a specific definition of the word. But it should at least be scary or disturbing which I feel this show is not. It has brief moments of suspense but it ends there. But again, thats obviously just my opinion on it.

Start a White House petition for American Scary Story?
I found all the scenes of Lana Banana tied up in Louis Ironson's subterranean (apartment building?) lair to be pretty scary, but I'm a ****.
I thought this was a great season! I hope they go with the Salem Witch thing next season!
Absolutely adored this season. Yes, not every single thing worked, but I thought it was consistently effective and outstandingly acted television. Paulson and Lange deserve Emmy nominations, without question.
I already started a White House petition today to make sperm classified as living people.
I think they'll go more Voodoo or modern witch than Salem. He said that he's putting Jessica Lange back into the Season 1 Constance glamour mold.
As long as Jessica Lange is in it, I'll be watching it!
Taissa Farmiga, Season 1's Violet, is in talks to be back. And I read that Evan will play a character more like Tate than Kit.
Is it too much to hope that Rabe won't be returning?
Rabe is clearly your Helen Hunt!
I thought she was great this year, once she became Sister Mossy Banks!
I think you for your mossy bank.
Well no, since Helen Hunt is a very fine actress and Lily Rabe is the Rabe in Rabies. (See what I did there? I used her name and put it into something really bad like rabies since they both use the same letters, even though rabies has an "i" and an "s" that Rabe doesn't have but I still think it works)
Rabe didn't really work for me either. I found her kind of silly and campy, never scary.
Helen Hunt, on the other hand, scared the sh*t out of me in "Mad About You"
"Well no, since Helen Hunt is a very fine actress and Lily Rabe is the Rabe in Rabies."
Helen Hunt is my personal talisman of irrational hatred. There's really no reason for my hatred, cause she's a perfectly talented woman. I just HATE HER. No rhyme or reason to it.
Season 3 is definitely not primarily set during the Salem Witch Trials (unfortunately). Ryan Murphy has said before that this next season will take place in modern times, but will occasionally dip into the past (kind of like Season 1). I really hope they get Taissa Farmiga back next year and am excited to see how large a role each returning cast member plays this time around.
New word on the street is that season three will tell the tale of a political family that uses witchcraft. Sounded like The Manchurian Candidate meets The Crucible to me.
Kind of like how that Kenyan used witchcraft to get into the White House.

I checked out after Anne Frank, but decided to watch the finale after reading some stuff about it online. I thought that Lana's old age make up was some of the best I've seen and also that Sarah Paulson looked absolutely fabulous anytime they flashed back to her in mid 70s garb.
What I didn't understand is why a journalist was getting a Kennedy Center Honor.
