AMERICAN IDOL
re: AMERICAN IDOL#725
Posted: 3/5/09 at 12:11pmI hope they don't pick girls just because they want to balance it out. The three I would choose from this 8 are all male.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#726
Posted: 3/5/09 at 12:37pmI'm thrilled Jorge made it! As for the wild cards, I'm hoping the "soulful" guy and Anoop get thru.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#727
Posted: 3/5/09 at 12:41pmSo, do we think how the wild cards sing tonight really matters, or have the decisions already been made? Don't they have to have eight performances plus announcing the three finalists in a one-hour show?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#728
Posted: 3/5/09 at 1:52pmThey might just give them less time to sing?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#729
Posted: 3/5/09 at 1:54pmI hope they'd cut the silly video intros. Either way, they have to stop singing at or about the 45 minute mark to let the judges at least appear to discuss their choices. That's very little time for eight performances.

"to let the judges at least appear to discuss their choices."
HAHA! True!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#731
Posted: 3/5/09 at 3:17pmAren't they supposed to put people through who they think can win? Who on earth thinks Tatiana could win?! grrr.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#732

Tatiana makes me want to shiv something...she reminds me of the lady in the Sound of Music movie who wins something before they call the von trapps, who just kept like...bowing and waving and smiling. Consequently, she was the original person to ever make me want to shiv something...back when I was like...5.
SO GLAD that Anoop mad it though.

sooo.....I'm the only one happy that the train wreck is back?
sorry, but I find it entertaining..I CAN'T LOOK AWAY!

No, clever name. I'm thrilled.
Let's face it -- most of the contestants this time are boooring. No Jason Castro to stumble out stoned and screw up lyrics, no Sanjaya piss of Simon, no Scott Savol to piss off the teenyboppers...
Tatiana would at least give us the dramatic tension of an on-air disaster with each show!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#735
Posted: 3/5/09 at 5:05pm....and that's exactly why they brought her back.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#736
Posted: 3/5/09 at 8:12pmI forgot it was on!! Ryan just said there were 6 more to go so what two did I miss? How were they?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#738
Posted: 3/5/09 at 8:25pmThank God, they didn't like Von, that means unless EVERYONEELSE collapse on stage in the middle of their song we will be done with his irritating facial tics and terrible over singing.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#739
Posted: 3/5/09 at 8:26pmI keep trying to like Megan, I really do, but I just can't. Too indie hipster for my tastes. Von wasn't great, I thought Paula's criticism was pretty spot on, actually. Matt was good, though, and I feel like I'm the only one who likes Jesse.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#740

Simon to Matt:
"The criticisms........I saw a bit of Taylor Hicks coming out"
BWWAAAHHHHAAAAHHHAAAA!!!! (sorry to anyone that actually liked him)
re: AMERICAN IDOL#741
Posted: 3/5/09 at 8:28pmJesse went first and sang Tell Me Somethin' Good (Chaka Khan), and Matt sang Who's Lovin' You (Jackson 5). Both were good, but Simon said Jesse was indulgent. Perhaps, but if anything, Matt was even more indulgent, and they all fawned over him. Megan was OK, but has no stage presence. Von blew it.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#743
Posted: 3/5/09 at 8:28pmWell, I have to say I LOVE Megan. I hope she gets in!

Thank you madbrian!
I'm bummed I missed Matt, bet I'm glad I didn't miss Tatiana!

I agree, Shbrt. I'm still trying to figure that last note out. I feel like she'd be better suited to quirky coffee shops and acoustic guitars.
I don't know why they praised Jasmine. There was no emotion coming out of that performance at all. Ugh.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#747
Posted: 3/5/09 at 8:34pm
Matt was good....except for the Taylor Hicks comparison!
*snort*
re: AMERICAN IDOL#748
Posted: 3/5/09 at 8:34pmAgain, Ricky reminds me of Eliott Yamin. That's intended as a compliment.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#749
Posted: 3/5/09 at 8:37pmShe's like a spastic Brooke White, only Brooke has some singing talent and warmth.
