Are they as bad as the store in NYC that has muscular men standing outside in speedos?
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

"And since when have attractive all-American cool kids been associated with great attitudes? "
I know that the way image is marketed to younger straight males is now very homoerotic, and things are changing, but I still have a hard time thinking that the "cool kids in school" he desires to buy his clothes lounge around in underwear with their other male friends.

I'm straight, and I didn't say I agree with their philosophy I said I got it. It's probabbly what every other "cool" and expensive fashion brand wants, to target good looking people. I'm not saying it's right, that's just the way it is...
I rarely wear A&F, as I said before their clothes are not really special. I'm a Zara guy.

Maybe they should go back to selling guns.

That's Hollister (at least I've seen that going on at the one on Broadway and Houston), which is pretty interchangeable in my mind with A&F.
ETA - I believe Hollister and Abercrombie are owned by the same parent corporation, so there is no difference between the two as far as I'm concerned.

I could see them being owned by the same company. The are both non-descript, over priced clothes sold in a dark room where you can hardly see anything.

Wasn't there some stir a while back where one of them (can't remember which) hired a girl with one arm but made her stay in the back?

They also own Gilly Hicks which is basically Victoria's secret.
But nobody wears Abercrombie anymore. When I was in high school and the first two years of college, almost everyone wore it it seemed. Nowadays, you see a lot of kids wearing hollister but hardly ever in A+F. I think Aeropostale replaced the A+F and American eagle demographic.
Abercrombie's are closing everywhere.

I just thought Hollister was a copycat store. LOL I tried going in there once. The dark lighting and blaring loud music ensured I didn't stick around. I left grateful I didn't have to work in that environment.
I did work at a Banana Republic for a few months. I liked the store as a shopper. HORRIBLE work environment. Absolutely toxic. The training...LOL...involved playing a board game. A BOARD GAME. When I left, something came up where I could only give 12 days notice instead of 14 (I had already scheduled 2 days off to be out of town). They said that meant I would never be eligible for rehire. I laughed and told them that was perfectly okay.
I do like the boxer briefs at Aeropostale (or "Aero-stopple" as my friend pronounces it).

When I worked at Pottery Barn at the mall I overheard an A & F manager interviewing 3 Asian women in the food court. The way he spoke to them made me boil. He essentially said "Asians are hot right now and we need to get some hot Asians working in the store. You ladies were chosen because you are exceptional specimens." They all smiled and nodded. I can see how it probably stroked their ego even though it was horribly racist and sexist.

I had a t-shirt made years ago that looked like an A&F shirt, but it actually said
'Not (in small letters at the top) Ambercrombies B!tch.
People always did a double take and then laugh.
I should have more made....

I thought some Abercrombie's did have shirtless male "greeters"--this may have just been for the opening though : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7k6Do-9cFA
I liked the ImprovsEverywhere prank that was done with "normal" shirtless guys going to the store:

Hollister is owned by the same creepy guy. It's his Old Navy to Abercrombie's Gap.

I did go through a brief Hollister phase back when I was younger and skinnier. Talk about clothes that fall apart after one washing!

This isn't too new from this guy- there are some profiles floating around that show what a delusional freak he is.
Such as this one, about the rules of his private jet.

"Though he turned 68 this year, Jeffries lives and breathes the Abercrombie & Fitch brand."
This guy is a total tool who obviously wants to be a 'pretty person' and just doesn't have it. He wants it so bad, that that's all he will allow to be around him.
What a pathetic human being.

I have long regarded A&F with total disdain.
From a thread a few years ago... This company disgusts me.

Any company that sells thongs to young girls is a bit messed up to begin with. Wasn't there some story where they were selling thongs at the store they have that's marketing to littler kids?
