I put Chris at the bottom of the vocal list, and the personality list...
I dont find him appealing as a performer, and cannot stand his voice. He cannot sing, and is showing it by losing his voice. His fake vibrato is so annoying.
Kat and Elliot are by far the best singers, Taylor and Paris were next, but now that Paris is gone (I agree that she wouldnt have gotten anything more out of this show.)
That said, Elliot will be the next to go. He just isnt bringing in the votes.
...and no...there has never been another Kelly Clarkson. She was the only one who good enough for me to bother voting.
Am I the only one who notices that the show tends to try and ignore Kelly's post-Idol management success? Even the other night when they talked about the success of the Idols on Billboard, all they mentioned was 'A Moment Like This' going to #1 -- ignoring her slew of hits off the record she made without them (not to mention that she got a couple Grammy's last time I checked.)
John Popa, that's because she's no longer managed by them. American Idol exists solely to make the record company money. "A Moment Like This" did that. Kelly's REAL success, her grammy-winning follow-up, has earned them directly squat (unless you count people who might have gone back and bought her first album if they heard the 2nd one before it).
It has not been lost on me, Popa.
I'm sticking to my original prediction for final two...Chris and Taylor.
And I won't be happy if Taylor wins. Chris, Katharine, Elliott, and Paris have always been my favorites. Paris is the first contestant I'm sad to see go.
I'm still kind of waiting for this season's unforgettable performance. I still get chills thinking about Fantasia's "Summertime". I haven't seen a moment like that yet this year. I guess the closest was Chris' "I Walk the Line".
Taylor just might make it into the finals.
Check out this web site. It's pretty funny.

Taylor is the only one left who has never been in the bottom three or bottom two. According to the American Idol websites he has gotten more hits than any of the other contestants. I think he is more popular than any of us realizes. Don't be shocked if he wins. I am willing to bet that it is going to come down to Taylor and Chris.
I just want Kat to sing one not without riffing it, or playing with it. I just want to hear her once sing a song precisely how it's written. I can't tell if she can actually sing when she does all the Idina crap.
I like Paris, but that baby voice was driving me crazy!
Bobby, last night I was discussing this with a cool guy I work with. He agreed with me that Taylor's attempts at dancing and gyrating are embarrassing, and that he doesn't sing remarkably well either. However, this guy things Taylor should win on the basis of his goofiness alone. That could explain his popularity-perhaps a lot of people want the goofy guy to win!
Yeah, the goofy guy always has a good chance.
I think next year they should isolate the contestants in a booth, not let them talk or showcase their personality. Just sing, and that's it.
I also think it would be more legit if we voted for who we wanted off, instead on who should stay.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The charisma of the performer is just as important -- if not more important -- than what notes they can or can't hit.
And that's not just in pop, in theater, movies, ANY sort of performance, having charisma isn't a cheat, it's as integral a part of the performer's ability to draw audiences as their base talent. It's why some people are stars and some people are in the chorus -- you think there aren't people in the ensemble of a show that can't hit the same notes as Patti LuPone? Of course there are -- it's that special charisma that makes the great ones better than just what scales they can sing.
I also think it would be more legit if we voted for who we wanted off, instead on who should stay.
The danger in that is that all of the polarizing contestants would be voted off right away, and the last ones standing would be the least offensive instead of the most popular.

I honestly don't get the Elliot thing. He's a relatively competent singer with no personality. Taylor is just as good a singer, can actually interpret a song, and is fun to watch. Chris may have to drop out since he's losing his voice and doesn't need American Idol anyway (what American Idol-ish album would he release?!). I think Chris is really cheesy actually... what rock artist wants to be on American Idol? It's lame. Katherine's still my favorite. Glad Paris is gone. She needs to grow up a little bit.

The AI contract is evil and even tighter now thanks to contestants like Kelly, Clay, and Mario Vasquez who were able to finagle their way out of it early. Right now, any final 12 contestant after #2 can't release an solo album till a year after the winner, so as not to potentially overshadow their success (see: Clay Aiken)....which looks like fall/winter 2007 for this cast. That's a huge reason I'm willing to get carpal tunnel and a ridiculous text bill to vote Elliott up to #2, hahaha.
I agree with the above post from Roninjoey.
Can't wait for tomorrow night!!!!

"Taylor arrested for pot. Is this true?"
Even if it is, it's not like the AI people cared about Scott's domestic altercation or Bo's brush with drugs. They only cared about Frenchie's sex scandal. Not sure about anyone else.
