This week

I have a hunch she'll overcome that load of crap.
#2227

This week

wow. I didn't realize just how awful Taylor was until tonight when he sang. Whomever decided he should win has made more of a joke out of this show than usual! Maybe it'll be even worse next season ! If they just don't take themselves seriously, it could be so bad that it's good.....

This week

Yea. She should get off to a real flying start with that first single they wrote for her!

Good point.

I don't care what America thinks, look who they put in the oval office.:P

And that's why this is all subjective! No one's wrong and no one's right.
#2229

This week

Well, yes. If you prefer performance antics rather than actual performing...I can totally see why one would pick Taylor.
#2230

This week

If you prefer performance antics rather than actual performing...

Okay. It's obvious that you don't want to listen. So, I'm not going to do anything with that.
#2231

This week

Taylor was always into what he was singing, while Katharine seemed more pleased to listen to the sound of her own voice.
#2232

This week

You are right on the money, shbrt.
#2233

This week

See, I think his performing was the equivalent of an actor crying in a scene just to cry. Everyone thinks the performance is so heartfelt, and everyone oohs and ahhs, but really, it's just copping out of really performing. He could never sit on the stage a perform a quiet song and be as vocally and emotionally exposed as Katharine was in many of her numbers.
#2234

This week

See, I never thought Katharine was exposing herself emotionally. I saw her as just smiling beatifically if it was a slow song and sensually if it wasn't.
#2235

This week

Okay, but once again, that's what you think.
#2236

This week

Taylor was likeable, Katharine was not. There's more to it than just "ooooh, they have a pretty voice".
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away."
#2237

This week

I've got the CHEEESE! I mean hey, Taylor won, we need *cheese* right?

*ahem* SOUL PATROL!!!
#2238

This week

Shbrt, for a couple performances, that was the case, but definitely not always.

This week

I agree. Taylor made me smile, but Katharine seemed so self-involved I couldn't warm up to her.

107, can you give me an example?
#2240

This week

"Someone To Watch Over Me," "Come Rain or Come Shine, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"...

"Taylor was likeable, Katharine was not. There's more to it than just "ooooh, they have a pretty voice"."

Right, and there's more to it than personality as well. I found Katharine to be a more likable person anyway, and I think she has much more personality on stage than Taylor...

This week

Katharine has more personality than Taylor? Uh, no.
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away."
#2242

This week

See, all those are examples of what I was saying. I didn't feel any emotion from her on any of those songs. All it was was beatific smiling.
#2243

This week

Clay Aiken and Carrie Underwood were the most talented people tonight.
#2244

This week

can we just agree that terri schiavo had more personality than Chris?
when ducks grow thumbs then maybe my opinion will change.
#2245

This week

Like I said, Taylor has antics and he has fun. If he really had that much personality as a performer, he'd be able to do something like the aforementioned performances Katahrine did.
#2246

This week

I am with you robyn. I thought Elliot and Taylor had the best personalities. To say that someone has more personality than Taylor onstage is insane.
#2247

This week

Again.....uh, no. We can agree to disagree.
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away."
#2248

This week

I think what BroadwayGirl is trying to say is that Katherine didn't need to jump around like a fool every performance to prove that she has a personality. Like someone in the thread said earlier, Hicks was entertaining at first, but it grew old. He's novelty.

This week

Clay Aiken looks like K.D. Lang!!! Agree?
#2250

This week

Thing is, I don't think he was doing it to be entertaining. I think that is how he is. He gets so into it that he does crazy stuff.
