wow. I didn't realize just how awful Taylor was until tonight when he sang. Whomever decided he should win has made more of a joke out of this show than usual! Maybe it'll be even worse next season ! If they just don't take themselves seriously, it could be so bad that it's good.....
See, I think his performing was the equivalent of an actor crying in a scene just to cry. Everyone thinks the performance is so heartfelt, and everyone oohs and ahhs, but really, it's just copping out of really performing. He could never sit on the stage a perform a quiet song and be as vocally and emotionally exposed as Katharine was in many of her numbers.

"Taylor was likeable, Katharine was not. There's more to it than just "ooooh, they have a pretty voice"."
Right, and there's more to it than personality as well. I found Katharine to be a more likable person anyway, and I think she has much more personality on stage than Taylor...

I think what BroadwayGirl is trying to say is that Katherine didn't need to jump around like a fool every performance to prove that she has a personality. Like someone in the thread said earlier, Hicks was entertaining at first, but it grew old. He's novelty.
