Posted: 3/21/07 at 1:08pmI think baby Jordin will be the over-all winner. I think Melinda is the best singer they've ever had in the competition but I think Jordin is a POP STAR in the making and she has the most compelling persona. I LOVE Sanjaya -- a south Asian Sean Cassidy -- what a mess!

Chris wasn't bad, actually.
I liked what Blake was up to. I wish he'd gone a bit falsetto on some of the notes - sounded a bit like he was straining in a few spots.
As I posted on the other thread - all around I found the episode to be a bit of a snore. So many fab songs to choose from, so little chosen.

I was really impressed by Jordin this week. She wasn't an early favorite, but I'm really getting behind her. I voted for her and Melinda.

Posted: 3/21/07 at 10:02pmHoward Stern has a lot to do with it. He had people calling in today saying they voted twice, five, and even ten times. Just imagine if just half to two-thirds of the people with Sirius (the estimated amount that listen to Stern) did the same thing.

I'd better not tell my mom that Stephanie is no longer in the running. She sort of liked her, although she's more of a Phil fan.
Really, the only reason I watch is for Melinda, Lakisha, and Jordin. They always give great performances, for the most part. I remember last week (was it last week?) when Lakisha sang a Billie Holiday number... and she was just fantastic. I hope she wins, I really do. In fact, I would be glad if any of those three gals won - or Blake, because he has mad beat box skills and a vocal talent to match.
Y'know why Sanjaya is still in? It's because of the tween fanbase who think he's the greatest thing since slice bread. He should have been gone by now. I mean, I like the kid, I really do. I imagine he's a total sweetheart... but he just doesn't belong on American Idol. It's not his niche at all.

Posted: 3/21/07 at 10:55pmI confess, I voted for Sanjaya at least 150 times last night. I just wanted him to make it into the Top 10. Mission Accomplished. Is anyone really going to miss Stephanie? She was a big snooze. But the show just wouldn't be the same without Sanjaya. He's not going to win, but damn it, he's going on tour this summer! Congratulations Sanjaya!
