What's Sanjaya's number?
I want to make sure I don't call it by mistake.

I think Sanjaya just equalled John Stevens' "Crocodile Rock" as the worst performance ever in the history of the universe.
Don't remind me. Oh, and Sanjaya's been much worse before.

OK, I missed a few bits and pieces tonight----what was up with that girl in the audience? Did they explain why she was there? The fact that she was so emotional was really endearing, but seriously...is she part of the Make-a-Wish program or what?
Speaking of crying: when Melinda sings, I get a little teary-eyed. She is AMAZING.
I liked tonight's show. It's interesting to see them tackle such "big" songs from an era before any of them were born.

Ok, So I'm just watching now cause i had rehearsal and taped it.
WTF was with blakes performance? could he have sounded a little more strained?
i think you praising him are clearly dickamatized. He's a bad. its actually kinda embarassing.
yes, he's pretty, but frankly, looks don't equal talent
ETA
I can't even watch Phil perform anymore. he freaking looks exactly like Max Shreck as Nosferatu. its just creepy.

No. Why I do think he's very cute, it's actually his voice that makes me swoon. I think he's brilliant.
And, yes, Lulu rocks. She sounded damn good, too, whenever she sang.

Posted: 3/21/07 at 12:41amOH, Blake's pretty darn good, but he wouldn't get nearly as much love if he wasn't so freakin' adorable. And you know it.

Posted: 3/21/07 at 12:54amThere was so much weird on the show tonight. The little crying girl, Phil's "I had fun. Did you have fun, audience?" or whatever he said shtick was embarrassing, but I thought Haley was kind of not terrible and I really liked LaKisha and Jordin a lot. I'm going to like every damn thing Melinda does, so she's not even worth mentioning. Blake was boring. I thought Sanjaya was still bad, but good for him for growling and screaming this week instead of his usually screeching and screaming.

And I didn't deny that in my last post. I was making the distinction that it isn't ONLY his looks that makes him so hot.
I like his taste in music and imagine he'd make the kind of CD I would want to buy--cute or not.

Damn! I fell asleep before the show. I'll watch it later.
How did Chris Sligh do? What did he sing?
#463re: American Idol - You Be The Judge
Posted: 3/21/07 at 10:20amI was trying to vote for Melinda and couldn't get through on my cell. I kept getting "You're call cannot be completed at this time."
#464re: American Idol - You Be The Judge
Posted: 3/21/07 at 10:23amI didn't catch all of them, but Melinda started off kind of slow and then BROUGHT IT at the end. They should just stop the show and give her the crown, now.

Chris Sligh and Melinda are most definitely my favorites...
I just don't understand why no one sang a Beatles or Who song... and we only got one Rolling Stones song...
and Tobacco Road? How does that qualify as British Invasion if it was written by a guy from North Carolina... that's probably the most American song i've ever heard...
this was a pathetic week regarding song choice... if the producers were going to give THAT much liberty regarding "British Invasion" they should have just called it songs from the '60s...

The show probably couldn't get rights/permission for songs from the Beatles or Who.
And as I posted on another thread: "As Long as He Needs Me"? A British Invasion song? Really?!?!?!

I'm not a big Blake fan, but I do think he's talented.
I liked Melinda, but I disagree with the judges. I think Jordin was the best of the night.
#470re: American Idol - You Be The Judge
Posted: 3/21/07 at 12:08pmi honestly don't think Jordin can win... she has huge pitch issues... none of her songs have been perfectly on key..

But who on the show is studio ready? Performance at the Grammys or concert ready?
Melinda and Blake.
The rest are playing catch up.
#472re: American Idol - You Be The Judge
Posted: 3/21/07 at 12:52pmAgree with that Jerb, but remember that Kelly and Kerry were far from studio ready at this point in their seasons.

Well, that's certainly reason to give the others a chance to catch up.
But Fantasia and Chris Daughtry are two others that I felt were ready to go from day one. And one won, the other didn't, but is doing very well.

Posted: 3/21/07 at 12:58pmHey, my friend told me that Ryan made some crude gesture after Chris Sligh performed. I didn't notice it though.
#475re: American Idol - You Be The Judge
Posted: 3/21/07 at 1:08pmI think baby Jordin will be the over-all winner. I think Melinda is the best singer they've ever had in the competition but I think Jordin is a POP STAR in the making and she has the most compelling persona. I LOVE Sanjaya -- a south Asian Sean Cassidy -- what a mess!
