Cook had better performances. Archuleta's a good singer, but his performances are boring.

David A is going to win, it has been slanted in his advantage the whole season. Personally I think he can sing but he has no personality and he is boring when he sings, when he is trying to look sincere he squints his eyes or licks his lips, he bops up and down and does nothing on stage, when he speaks he sounds rehearsed and unnatural. On another website they said he would be perfect for broadway which made me have a fit....anyway I think David A will be the winner and the producers have wanted it all along because he will be easy for them to control because he is young and not fully developed as an artist or a person, so they can make him into anything they want. I feel sorry for him because it is obvious that he is under alot of pressure from the producers and his dad and he can't be himself or find himself as many 17 year olds are trying to do...I mean some if the song choices were obviously made by his dad.

ARCHIE WAS INCREDIBLE. He sang his heart out, and for the first time he sang with pure EMOTION. He seems like he wants this more than Cook. I feel that if Cook takes the title, it will be worse for his career. I am so nervous for tonight!

What it boils down to for me is that I just don't like Archuletta's style of singing. Too adult contemporary. Cook is a better performer by miles.

Am I seriously the only one who still think Cook has quite a shot? Heck, even Simon predicted Cook would win, and Simon has never been wrong I don't think! (granted that was a bit contingent on how last night went)
I honestly feel like the judges made it seem like Cook had WAY more of an off night than the actually did. Yes, I will not deny David A was amazing last night, and it was probably his best night ever. But just because DA happened to peak at the perfect time, that doesn't mean DC didn't do well! He DID. And I happened to disagree with Simon on the second round.. and maybe even the third too, watching it back. The second one I honestly felt like they BOTH weren't soo great. And actually, if anything I liked DC's performance MORE. And the third one.. you know, in the moment I agreed with Simon, but then watching it back I realized... that song meant SO MUCH to him. And I think that he needed to do it for his own peace of mind. I think it was very thereputic for him, and yeah, he could have been safe and gone with Billie Jean and done an amazing performance, but it really wouldn't have been as special in a sense, because it wouldn't have meant as much to HIM.
So yeah, I think that people were just kind of expecting to do some huge rocker song that would bring the house down, but I think watching it back will hopefully make them realize.. it was a REALLY powerful performance.
I don't know.. I just have a very cautiously hopeful feeling about tonight :) I know DialIdol isn't always completely accurate, but it's been pretty darn right lately, and it has DC in the lead by QUITE a bit. And other polls/guessing programs are placing DC ahead of DA as well. So...I still have faith. I think that DC has garnered a much stronger, more devoted fanbase than people may realize. I think he's been the real front runner for a good few weeks now, and that's not going to change just because he was the "lesser of the two really good nights" last night

I'm still trying not to COMPLETELY get my hopes up, because I know that it's REALLY close, and it could very well be the DA will end up winning. But.. I'm liking the odds that DC will win. A LOT. And I could not be more excited for tonight!!

awww, come now. He wasn't LAME at all. It's just DA had his BEST night ever last night. But um.. I can think of about SIX or SEVEN other nights where DC was even better than DA last night
And besides, World I Know made me nearly cry, so...
If DA wins, I will be fine. I have absoltely NO doubt that he'll have a huge career either way. It's just.. I selfishly want him to win because there's never ever been a season where the person I was most invested in actually HAS won. I mean with season 4 I adored both Carrie and Bo, so I was more than happy that Carrie won, but... I don't know, I just didn't care quite as much because i DID love them both equally. And season 2 was the only other time I've been completely invested in a finalist, but Clay didn't win.. so.. that's why I REALLY want DC to win!

Those new songs were awful. Pork Chop's sounded like someone ripped off "Don't Cry Out Loud" and replaced it with the lyrics from one of Whitney Houston's 80s B-sides. And Cook's sounded like something that Creed or Nickelback would have said was too poseurish.

I can only pray that those sites are accurate tonight. Cook deserves to win because he has been hitting it out of the park every week. Little mutton chop...not so much. That boy bores me to tears. No way in h*** does he even come close to resembling Josh Groban. Josh is in a class by himself and Mutton chops hasn't even started kindergarten yet. If he wins it will be fine for Cook, he will do amazing things anyway, but just watch how quickly mutton fizzles out. If all the little tween girls can't "see" him sing on the cds they won't go for his kind of music for too long. What they are falling all over their little school books for now is how cute he is and they just want to pinch his cheeks!!! Give it time the real Idol will show himself in a very deserving David Cook!!!

The "idol" songs are always bad. The producers of the show have already said they were disapointed in the ratings this season and plan on making some changes for the next one. I hope they get rid of the awful group numbers and the "idol" songs, especially ones chosen by a contest. They typically favor one performer over another and just aren't good/interesting songs. It would be more enjoyable to let the top 2 perform a third song that is more in their own style and wait to develop a decent single after the show is over. I would also like to see no repeat songs in the finale, unless they do get rid of the "idol" song and the third choice must be the contestants favorite song they performed.
