Outsang? Absolutely. Out performed? No, not in my eyes.

What is the number to vote for Cook, please? I'm kind of dying to vote!
I don't know if he definitely outsang Cook. Arch always sounds very throaty and strained, but I assume that is because of his condition. But the boy needs to learn how to stick to a melody more.

1-866-IDOLS-01 03 or 05
I don't know he if definitely outsang Cook.
Even at his weakest, I've always felt that Archuleta was the superior singer.

Cooks #s are 1-866-43657 -01, 03, or 05. It has been pretty easy to get through which isn't a good sign. I voted tonight for the first time since season 2, not sure that it really matters, but i wanted to support Cook. I do think A. sang better overall tonight, but Cook is a better performer and more well rounded. I have enjoyed Cook all season. I wish he had sung the full version of Hello. I hope he will consider doing a cover of that song and put it out as a single or as a bonus on his album.
but Cook is a better performer and more well rounded.
Yes.
Archuleta is going to win.
And disappear off the face of the earth like Taylor Hicks and Ruben.
I guarantee it.
Anyone else notice the teleprompter? If you recorded the program, watch it back and you'll see a huge screen well behind the judges with text scrolling as they sang. Since Archuleta mucked up the lyrics a couple of times this season, I guess they provided this as a safety net for him?
Both performers had the teleprompter.
I'm not sure how these 2 will fare in the real world regardless of who wins. I think Cook is a 2nd rate Daughtry and Archuletta is *almost* as good as Josh Groban. Archuletta is an accomplished vocalist, and Cook puts on a good show. It's tough for me to predict their futures, but I agree with the media saying that this is the toughest finale to call. Obviously I'm a Archuletta fan, but I don't think he has it in the bag.
Archuletta is probably as good as Josh Groban but to be honest, Josh Groban isn't that great of a performer. Live he usually sounds really awkward but on recordings, he sounds much better (Hmm...). I think Cook is much more marketable and to be honest, more talented, than Archuletta when all is said and done.
I miss Michael Johns.
Do you think the votes will be as close as they were for Clay and Reuben?

I'm prepared to be disappointed tomorrow night if Archuleta wins, but I'm thinking that on the positive side, with the exception of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, it's usually those who didn't win who are more successful.
I'm actually having a hard time getting through on all three phone lines.
It will definitely rival Clay and Ruben in how close the votes will be.
To be really honest, the more I think about it, the more I hope that people realize that they should be voting for who gave the best performances throughout the duration of the entire show not just tonight.
I think that should be emphasized more on the final performance show more...
I thought they kind of slanted it towards David A. by the end of the night, but that could be to throw us off. They may give it to Cook.
And they'll stretch the announcement out for an hour tomorrow!
Oh, it was completely slanted. I hope it was a throw-off to make it more intense.

to me, Archuletta is like Baby June, totally phony and more than a little chumpy. his reactions to the judges made me gag. Cook seems way more genuine to me. I hope he wins.
If you base it on season-wide performance, I don't think you can necessarily give it to Cook. Archuletta has been syrupy, admitted, but consistent with strong vocals throughout. Cook has had more off weeks. I still can't help but wonder (much like Carrie Bradshaw) if those who still aren't over Daughtry being voted off are pushing Cook to win as a consolation prize.
i disagree with you Princeton, Cook was more consistent than Archuletta. He messed up the lyrics on more than one occasion and only got called out once for it. Cook took risks that 9/10 times paid off. Archuletta took none, and didn't really show any passion or emotion during his performances or otherwise until last week and tonight. Cook has been the stronger performer of the 2 the entire season. Archuletta has had one of the strongest voices all season, but Cook's aren't bad. Archeuletta's breathing techniques have also annoyed me this season and in my opinion took away from some of his performances. Archuletta never really pulled of anything but a ballad. Cook did some ballads and showed his rock side.
I agree. Archuletta's technique raises some questions for me. I'm not sure the technique is really there.
And I hate how he performed so many songs he performed in the past, pre idol.
It took me nearly 2 hours to get in one vote for David A. And I was calling all 3 numbers.
I'm sure VOTE FOR THE WORST helps crowd his lines.
i had no problems getting through for David Cook. It may not be that close, especially with the judges big slant for David A. It would have been interesting to see what they would have said if Cook had performed Billy jean or Hello for his final number.

VOTE FOR THE WORST is yesterday's news. It has zero impact on the voting.
