I didn't realize that all politicians were staying at that resort with Scalia. But they haven't said who else was there, so maybe it was everyone else and the whole entire "system" is to be blamed for his decision not to review the proprietor's case before the Supreme Court.

The more I read about Sri Srinivasan, the more I like him as a nominee. He is not an extreme liberal, which I would not like to see on the court. He would be the first Asian-American justice, and the first immigrant in over 50 years. He was approved unanimously by this senate for the DC Circuit court. The GOP would be fools to oppose him, which means they probably will.

Scalia also gave us the primary arguments for executing the retarded and for the idea that nothing in the constitution bars the executing of people just because they are "actually innocent". Apparently, the Constitution's obsession with checking the power of the government was just an academic exercise and not an attempt to insure innocent people avoided conviction.

For over four billion years, the world has been tilted in favor of straight, white men. For about the last 150 years or so, efforts have been made to balance the world so opportunities are more equal. That scares the crap out of many straight, white men, as well as those who have benefited from their advantage. Those folks can be found in many places: tea party rallies, Westboro Baptist Church, Trump rallies, Congress, etc. The SCOTUS is also where you can find them, and it is critical that we do not allow another to fill the void left by Scalia.
